When news of the movie hit, I was skeptical at first and then pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a great addition to the Simpsons universe, and I nice breath of fresh air into Springfield. The show has been my favorite for years (not the past couple though... I stopped watching it years ago) and it's fun to rewatch the classics on DVD. The movie was pretty good considering the show's past 6 or so years, but comes nowhere close to the shows 90's prime. The jokes in the last 6 or so series just aren't up to the standard of the episodes in the early to mid 90s. From series 2-8 it cannot be beat. The movie just was not funny. The only gag that made me laugh came from comic book guy when he records grandpa simpson having an epileptic fit on his mobile phone. The story bored me too.
