The fist movie was cool. I'd love to see a full length B-17 movie. Heavy Metal 2000 sucked harder than the cold vacuum of space. An A-list Heavy Metal 3 should be pretty awesome.

All I know is they better damned well have a Moebius story in it this time, preferably one based on Arzach: It would really be a kick if they could replicate Giraud's delicious crosshatched style with CG, or get a team of animators who could produce it faithfully. Moebius is a cornerstone of the mag's popularity and it'd be sad if he never got a mention in one of the films.

This sounds pretty damn cool. Fincher AND Eastman. Very nice indeed. Plus, being animated by Blur. Also very nice. And intended to be R. Pretty much seals the deal for me

The original "Heavy Metal" was a work of genius in terms of story telling and animation. Not to mention the fact that it has some of my favourite rock tunes of all-time! This movie is actually the reason why I have a terrible fear of green orbs!

The other two Heavy Metal films sucked big time. But with Fincher doing part of it I'll have to check this out.

WTF Definitely an odd choice. I think Fincher should go ahead with other projects like Black Hole or Torso cause this seems like a waste of time for him. He could do better IMO.

Heavy Metal is one of my alltime animated movies of all time and plans for a new one are getting me excited. Heavy Metal 2000 was o.k. but not as great as the original even that was adapted from a story published by the magazine.

From Variety Paramount puts pedal to 'Metal' Fincher tests 'Heavy' Paramount Pictures will make an animated film inspired by the '70s sci-fi fantasy magazine Heavy Metal, with director David Fincher spearheading the project. "Heavy Metal" will be stamped by the erotic and violent storylines and images that remain the trademark of a magazine that debuted in the U.S. in 1977. The mag introduced the works of American artists and writers such as Robert Silverberg, Harlan Ellison and H.R. Giger. The film will consist of eight or nine individual animated segments, each of which will be directed by a different helmer. Fincher will direct one of the segments; Kevin Eastman, the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" co-creator who is now owner and publisher of Heavy Metal, will direct another. So will Tim Miller, whose Blur Studios will handle the animation for what is being conceived as an R-rated, adult-themed feature. Fincher, Eastman and Miller will produce the film. The studio will lock in the other...
