My main commentary complaint is either having too many people doing a commentary and not identifying them adequately (no, I can't tell the producer's voice just by hearing it) or having commentary people talk for minutes and minutes about things unrelated to the movie we are watching. I like the popup trivia too, which is becomming more common. | | Static Link |

Sometimes, however, you can understand why they were cut out. I think my favorite all-time extra is on the Two Towers extended DVD. It's the clip of Gollum arguing with himself, where they show both the final product and the raw footage of Andy Serkis. I think if the Academy had seen that footage and understood how much of Gollum's performance came out of Serkis instead of the animators, he might have had a shot at a best supporting actor Oscar. | | Static Link |

There are several features I like as DVD extras: The documentaries (I love the really good making off stuff that talk to actors, directors, the lighting, I eat that stuff up) Blooper reels can be a kick as well the subtitled trivia I've only seen on Doctor Who DVD's it's interesting stuff most of the time. | | Static Link |

Where on a VHS you could only hope for a very short special either before or after the feature DVD lets you view these with only a few button presses. Included are a few of the more common features, but feel free to mention any particular favorites. In my case, I'm very fond of the all green screen Sin City. Obviously, though, that's not something that can really go on. Next week I'll put one up for least favorite. | | Static Link |
