If you want make an argument for anime, I suggest starting with Grave Of The Fireflies. I'd next suggest the TV series Ghost In The Shell, both season one "Stand Alone Complex" and season two "SAC 2nd Gig". Both are essentially police-procedural shows set in a slightly futuristic environment. Very grownup stuff without most of anime's cliches and trappings. | | Static Link |

Kinda takes the wind out of it despite how ever good Levitt is as an actor. The idea just reeks of '50s westerns to me, when white guys played Indians. | | Static Link |

I think people like SA because it's their first venture into anime and it's totally different, and they get caught up in the visuals (which are frankly among Miyazaki's best). Personally, his best films are Nausicca, Castle in the Sky, and Mononoke Hime. Fafhrd | | Static Link |

Oh boy but that soundtrack hehe. Sounded like Rosann Barr's asian cousin sang in it. | | Static Link |

The original anime is a classic; it doesn't need a crappy live action remake. Oh and btw Josh for hating anime! Fafhrd | | Static Link |
