Mocking McG for his inability to make movies is one thing. Saying someone real dropped dead from a plane crash is kind of bad taste. Still, there nothing's there worthy of death threats. I'd think that Marshall fans would be more bothered that their loss is being turned into a movie for the entertainment of the masses. | | Static Link |

They are telling a very powerful story about something that every sports fan fears. Plus, McC knows his football, so it will be accurate. | | Static Link |

| Posted by: Abscynthe at November 9, 2006, 9:08 am | | Topic: We Are Marshall - discuss it Forum: Film Hobbit | | I love football movies, but I haven't seen Invincible yet, and I don't like Denzel Washington so I refuse to watch Remember the Titans. This one is on my to-see list (at some point!). | | Static Link |

As a fan of college football, and considering the rich story it tells, I can't imagine it will be anything short of amazing. Plus, Matt isn't being chased by 100,000 wanna-be brides, or something like that. He's talking about football, something that is obviously his passion. I can't turn on a Texas football game without seeing his face, so I think he knows what he is doing. I have to expect it will be better than Radio and Remember the Titans, and way better than that remake of The longest Yard. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Abscynthe at July 13, 2006, 4:13 pm | | Topic: We Are Marshall - discuss it Forum: Film Hobbit | | This has been filming in Atlanta. One of our local radio stations was trying a "Welcome Matts" campaign to get either / both Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox to come on the station. They REALLY overdid it (they even sent a singing telegram in the form of Austin Powers to the producers' studio in L. A) and both Matts refused to have anything to do with the radio show. Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue plays one of the coaches. They had a call for extras to fill the stadium, but it was during a Friday morning and I couldn't get the time off work / go in late. | | Static Link |
