My girlfriend refuses to watch them at all, and I can't blame her. However, there are some scenes in movies that can hit you almost as hard. I cringe when I watch american history x and edward norton tells the kid breaking into his car to bite the curb. Or in the Patriot when the church is burned down with all the towns people in it. The scene in Regarding Henry were Harrison Ford for no reason at all some guy shot him in the head . . . thats bad enough but what got me was the look of total confusion Harrison Ford had and then he looked at the guy and asked him "Why?" That scene hit me like a ton of bricks . . . I had for one second a total empathic connection with the guy and it felt horrible. I tell ya, this scene still haunts me. I hate knowing that something big just happened but being unable to get my head around it and understand it . . . It only lasts an instant but you get this wash of emotions all at once . . . I remember once my uncle came running into the room with his son in his arms crying to his mother (my grandmother) that his boy is dead . . . for that instant I was totally numb and it took me a few horrible seconds to understand why they were laughing . . . I don't know if it's just the fact that the movie as a whole leaves me with a sick feeling inside or if it's a combination of that, the fact that it is a gang rape, and the horrifying thought of being kidnapped from your home and raped by people whose words you cannot even understand. | | Static Link |

It wasn't played off like the rape scene at the end of A Streetcar Named Desire, was it? By the way, that rape scene in Halloween Unrated was ridiculous and unneeded. You don't need a rape scene in a Halloween movie. That did piss me off because it felt like he just threw it in there for the hell of it. His reasoning for it on the commentary were also weak. | | Static Link |

That sounds horrid. Is it in the dvd, do you know? Cuz I want to avoid that scene if it is. And I see your point, auge_28. I guess in the end, different scenes affect different people, differently. I love my gore films, yes. But on occassion, some stuff like the death of lorna kinda gets to me. If she was brutally raped then bashed and then done in the way she was. I guess that would have been much harder for me to view. Movie or not. It's very cruel and brutal. | | Static Link |

Yeah I know it is, but I agree with the idea that even though it's not attractive to YOU, I don't see it as much different than enjoying bloody, gory violent movies. The Japanese make tons of simulated rape pornos. So someone saying they're turned on by it is NOT a rare thing. Like S&M... it's not my bag, but obviously it works for others. | | Static Link |

When I first saw this movie at the cinema, I was quite taken back. Despite the fact I have grown up on a diet of horror movies. This scene which depicts the torture and killing of this girl, Lorna is pretty sick. Yes, yes, I know it's just a movie. But that's the whole point of discussion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6_5sV1vy2s Which bit in Halloween? The mcie or something? I never saw the work print. Never seen Family Guy, Lib.
