That's what I'm talking about! The Invisible Man (possible remake classic) #2)It did have some good special effects. #3)Overall, a lousy film, quite bad. Couldn't wait for it to end... nuff said. The same anger I experience everytime I look at my DVD collection and wonder what I was thinking having purchased it whence having never previously viewed it. God I hate this movie and would like to re-edit my prior rating of 4.5/10 to 1/10 AS WELL. | | Static Link |

Hollowman will be the last DVD I buy on a whim without having first seen the movie. This movie (like soooo many) does start out with promise but totally jumps the shark not even half way threw. The whole idea of the invisible thing should have (call me sick, but) been taken to the next level. (spoilers) case in point when he rapes the girl next door. Not that I want to see a girl get raped (ugh), but they could have showed more of a struggle, ect..they could've delved more into that whole concept of him invisible in regular society! Instead they show is dorky invisible ass hanging around the underground lab most of the fucking movie. All this leading up to an oh my God- epitomy of Jump the fucking Shark HOLLYWOOD Ending. God this movie sucked. The least they could have done is given us a nice clear money shot of Elisabeth Shue *yeah baby yeah!!T%#&#!!@ (see the waterfall seen in Cocktail for a truly religious life-changing e... | | Read Entire Entry |

| Posted by: pennywise46 at August 20, 2001, 1:13 pm | | Topic: Hollow Man Forum: JoBlo | | I went to see this first day with some friends, and we were all dissapointed. I thought it would be a lot better. I like the whole invisible man idea. The special effects were pretty good, and some of the acting wasn't bad. The three main things I didn't like were: Kevin Bacon suffering from HMKWWFD syndrome(horror movie killer who wont fucking die syndrome)-He just doesn't die! he gets set on fire, electrocuted ect. The second problem was it was too predictable. And the third was that some of the dialog and acting sucked. One part I remember **SPOILER** is when they find a dead body of a friend, they show barely any emotion. They say something like "Oh god they killed him...and now he is after us." Overall I would give this a 5/10. Don't watch it. | | Static Link |

There was some amazing special effects. The sound of this movie and the overall look was the best of last year. The thing is that when the pace changed, so too did the entire movie. It went from a science fiction to a slasher. I wish that they had looked over the script one more time. 6/10 (I gave two extra points due to the visuals and sound effects, but I subtracted one of those points because they showed Kevin Bacon's penis). | | Static Link |

| Posted by: ilovemovies at August 20, 2001, 9:38 am | | Topic: Hollow Man Forum: JoBlo | This was a disappointment. It started off promising and for a while was pretty interesting. But once the Kevin Bacon character started to turn psychotic then the movie became less interesting. And the last third of the movie is little more than a standard slasher flick. I suppose I could say that even though the ending is a let down plot wise, the movie does manage to pack a light jolt every now and then. But to see such a promising premise die off and turn to hack stuff so quickly is disheartening. None of the characters are really all that interesting. Kevin Bacon is ok but he was a better psycho in the River Wild. Even his character isn't all that interesting. He's your typical psycho killer and only has slightly more of a personality than his costars. The visual effects are excellent. But apart from that and the couple of jolts the ending packs(don't get the wrong idea, it's only a couple), this is a mildly diverting if largely uninteresting little movie.
