It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great... I didn't mind Jar-Jar as much as everyone else but he was kind of an ASS-FUCK-PIECE-OF-MONKEY-SHIT-WHO-HAPPENED-TO-BE-A-RAT-ASS-BASTARD...But I thought it was a little overlong and sort of draggy... 7/10 | | Static Link |

I think George Lucas has been too secluded from the real film audience all the way out in Skywalker Ranch. Messy editing, cinematography was less than average, acting was ok, but under-par in parts, the music was very good again, and the story was interesting, but dealt in an un-interesting manner. 6/10. Star Wars: 8/10
The Empire Strikes Back: 10/10
Return of the Jedi: 7.5/10 I have high hopes for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. [This message has been edited by ak (edited 10-01-2001).] | | Static Link |

My favorite scene by far (that makes clearest examples of what I like) is the fight between the two Jedis and Darth Maul.
The scenography is good, a pretty decent art direction and the special effects deserves mentions. The best in my opinion was the music by John Williams. I think it was above the general quality of the film. "Duel of fates" is a great work.
About acting, well Liam and Ewan were regular, I didn't like Jake Lloyd and Natalie Portman. Actually the only good scenes they did were the ones where they were together.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I saw the Panthom Menace five times but I thing the saga only can get better with Episode II. My grade 7/10. The final battle secuel got a 10/10. PS. Jar-Jar Binks.......No further comments. | | Static Link |

I dont mean you Ender, but alot of people seem to think that Attack of the Clones will make Phantom Menace better - it wont. Im sorry, but Phantom Menace was not a good film. The acting for the most part, was horrible and corny, the CGI was "not" good (not the enviroments, but the characters) and the action was pretty stale. Thats my 2 cents. | | Static Link |

This one got a pretty bad rep from a lot of filmgoers, but I, for one, really dug it. Was it a masterpiece? No. Was it as good as Empire? Of course not! But still, what we have here is a cool, entertaining little flick, which will hopefully provide a solid base for the trilogy. Strong Points: First of all, the effects where fantastic. Even with my undying hatred of CGI, I was completely blown away. Lots of good performances, Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman being the standouts of the cast. Lots of points to the truly badass Darth Maul, who's facepaint and dizzying acrobatic skills put him almost on par with Vader. Low Points: JAR JAR! AGH! Fortunatly, I found him easy to ignore. Not so easy to ignore, though, was that annoying little twirp Anakin! God, he blew! He was stiff, he was awkward, and he was saddled with incredibly some incredibly cheesy lines. And worst of all, I can't believe they killed Darth Maul! He could ha... | | Read Entire Entry |

The trailers looked disappointing and I just felt a ‘modern’ Stars Wars flick would put all of them out of place. I was wrong. This is a good movie, and even though it was disappointing and a little too modern for me like I thought it would be, I was entertained throughout. The film has some very good action scenes, great acting from Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman (whose character twist, quite simply, confused the hell out of me) and the visuals are breathtaking. However, good visuals, brilliant sound and fabulous editing do not a great movie make. The things I disliked about the movie were the fact that the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi hardly has any involvement into the plot, but the twist at the end is sure to have him more included in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. I also hated the character of Jar Jar Binks. What an annoying little freak! Technically, he was pretty amazing, but he was just a brat with an overacted voice by Ahmed Best and... | | Read Entire Entry |
