I thought Willow was ok. I'm a huge fan of Warwick (arrgh! I want me pot of gold!) and Val. But IMO I like Legend alot more. Since the main villain kicked so much ass. and was one "horny devil".... Willow is cool. But I like Legend more 7/10

This movie is either one you could hate or love...I enjoyed it. Most reviewers felt the story was lacking and that it was only remembered because of its special effects. Since Im usually not into more "complex" fantasy (meaning elves and witches and goblins and flaming warthogs and everything else), I got into the movie for the sheer sake of simplicity. (Cyclonus) If you didn't like it before, you probably wouldnt like it now.. Also, (Lord Kakaru) if youve become a bigger follower of films in the fantasy genre, you probably wont get into the rather basic plotline of this movie. Unless, of course, a lot of nogstalgic memories exist for you...that always brings a great movie experience with it. Like I said before, its a simple story with a great DVD...if you see a copy at the video rental store, you might want to check out Willow(se).

The last time I saw this movie was on it's opening day (or very nearabouts), June 11, 1988, for my 9th birthday party. I liked it, but I'm afraid to watch it again in fear that I won't...

I saw part of it before and thought it was alright, perhaps another look is warranted? [This message has been edited by Cyclonus (edited 12-12-2001).]

Sorry about the last post, I couldnt resist adding to the trend that preceded this message. Willow (1988) [Damn, thats a long time..]
Starring Warwick Davis (the short guy) and Val Kilmer
Directed by Ron Howard
Produced by George Lucas I am not really into the whole fantasy genre, but I got into this flick. My dad (for some reason) bought this DVD on the first day of release and I got the chance to view it for the first time since I was a young'en. Considering that I had no expectations for the movie, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality effort that was put on the DVD. The picture quality came out better than most new movies and the sound was remastered with incredible quality. I didnt expect it, but Willow has become a showcase DVD in our growing collection. The most common complaint against this movie was the almost standard storyline. However the visuals, the incredibly surreal enviornments (one that blew me away was the town of midgets...must have been a pain in the ass to cast), the adv...
