This is not a bad thing, actually it's pretty entertaining if you don't compare it to the mighty Craven film. As it is, it's certainly the step child of the Elmstreet series, like HALLOWEEN 3 and FRIDAY 5 are for their franchises. It's neither as over-the-top as 3,4 & 5, nor is it a straight out horror comedy like part 6. I don't count NEW NIGHTMARE into this series so I don't compare it to that. All in all, these series have done way worse (I hate Part 4) but way better too (1,3,5 ), and as a part of the series, this is a rather unique movie and worth a watch for fans of the series. All others should stick to the original or part 3. 6/10 | | Static Link |

Cast: Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Englund, Robert Rusler, Clu Gulager, Hope Lange. Screenwriter: David Chaskin. Producer: Robert Shaye A New Line Cinema release. As every self-respecting horror buff knows, Wes Craven directed the original Nightmare which was a box-office smash. However, before the film had met with financial success, he sold the sequel rights, a move he has long regretted. Freddy's Revenge is not a disaster, but it pales in comparison to the original. The story is pretty routine stuff, empathizing special effects and gore over plot. However, the central concept is fairly intriguing, and makes for some scattered good moments. Mark Patton is not a thespian, but he generates sympathy as the central character, a young man trapped by dark forces. Robert Englund, reprising his role as Freddy Krueger, is as engaging as charismatic as ever. The character is a creation of modern makeup effects (kudos to Kevin Yagher... | | Read Entire Entry |

It was very funny. It wasn't scary of course---did you actually expect it to be? It was a lot of fun, I laughed so much. It's a great movie to watch with a group of friends, you will laugh your ass off. And the gay undertones were very obvious and pretty damn funny. I loved the scene on the bus in the beginning, those girls are so funny, "driver, that was our stop." I couldn't stop laughing about that, even after the movie was over. It was so damn funny. And the guys little sister in this movie was a pretty bad child actor and when she said "daddy, I'm scared" I started laughing, it was so funny. And the exploding bird was also funny. If you don't take this movie seriously it's a lot of fun. Be prepared to laugh a lot! It's one of my personal favorites... I don't know what to give it for a grade though. I really enjoyed it as a fun movie, but it's not up to the quality of some of the others in the series. It's just a l... | | Read Entire Entry |

Kim Myers Robert Englund Freddy's revenge? Revenge on who the viewers of this piece of crap? This is the second worst entry of the series I think. Its not scary, not suspenseful, Freddy isn't even funny yet! Also this movie was made with gay undertones...FUN? NO! A young man moves in the Thompson's old house. Strange things start accuring (exploding parrots?! C'mon!). He soon finds out that the girl who used to live there was attacked by Freddy Krueger. Freddy wants him to kill for him ("I've got the brains, you've got the body"). Then for some odd reason a Meryl Streep look alike throws a party and guess whose there? This movie is a tragedy. After an excellent first movie they have to pull us into this crap. The killings aren't fun or scary. I mean how scary is it to have someone's clothes taken off and have their ass whipped by a towel? I do have to give props to the makeup artist of this movie, Freddy's face is as juicy as ever and his red eyes are kind of creepy...KIND OF! Some ... | | Read Entire Entry |
