I think it is difficult to be critical of this film if you take it for what it is meant to be, mindless entertainment. If you start taking movies like this seriously, dissecting what is and what is not feasible then non of these types of movies would stand up to scrutiny. There not suppose to be realistic just enjoyable to watch. I agree with you Lindsey I though it was a great fast paced action movie that is great for what it is- 8 out of 10

i would have to say that i enjoyed this film immensely.
This is a sinple film with a vrery easy to follow story line , there are no plot twists what so ever. Every one of thd charactors is totally shallow in every way except for Buscemi's charactor who may not have been hannibal but was someone that we could at least understand why he is the way he is. This film is basicaly one good one liner after another.there are some amjopr classics, ie the one where they are dragging a vette behind the plane and cage comes out "On any other day that was look strange".
On a down side i simply hated the Clom Meany charactor. God help the america if he is the type of head that they employ to run people. Watch this film wityh your brain switch off and you will have a blast, think about i or analyse it and you are missing the pont.

When i wathced this first time i really thought "Wow, that is a really good action movie!"
I really enjoyed it and it stayed in my good books. So when it was on sale on dvd a few years later i bought it...how i regreted that buy. How could i have enjoyed this movie.
It was stale action, with JOHN MALKOVICH trying to act hard and with Nic Cage having an AWFUL accent. The only good thing in it was John Cusack, but he unfortunately was not enough to save the movie.
The plot was very basic and dialogue clearly written not just for the action genre, but for the people whol ike action genre's kids!!!
Un-enjoyable movie 2nd time around and i refuse to watch it again.
4/10

I'll respectfully disagree. A great cast is nothing without a decent storyline. You can try and call this one "over-the-top" but that's a euphemism for incredibly stupid. Hey let's put the 50 most dangerous guys in the world on one plane! Oh yeah bring that one guy who is being released. Yeah the one with the awful Southern accent (I think he used his stock bad Southern accent in this film....truthfully I saw it once and never wanted to see it again). Of course the simple plot continues in a linear fashion- trouble insues. Ok so interesting situation that just becomes even more fucking stupid. Let's crash into Las Vegas! It was at that point that I thought it would be more worthwhile to comb my ass hair than watch this film. Cage was his usual action role self- an incredible waste of talent. The only redeeming feature was Buscemi who was genuinely disturbing. A whopping 3/10

Well, I don't think I liked it as much as you did, Lindsey. But still, I thought it kicked some ass! Con-Air is like most of Jerry Bruckheimer's movies, an entertaining popcorn flick. BTW, it gets a 7.5/10 from me. Strider

When you think about it this movie was really silly. First of all, they spelled U.S Marshals wrong, giving it two L's. My memory is a little shot. Why was Cage being transported with such ruthless psychos, when he was just going home? I guess it was a fun action flick with no intelligence involved. 6/10 oh god kill me!

Con Air is about a man (Cage) who is sent to prison for manslaughter, leaving his pregnant wife behind. Once he served his time, he's on his way home on a flight with with a bunch of killers, rapists, and psycho's. When things go terribly wrong, prisoners take over the plane and all hell brakes loose. What can I say about Con Air? It's great, and is one of my favorite movies of all time. The thing that's great about the film, is it has a great cast. It has Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, John Malkovich, Ving Rhames, and a very scary Steve Buscemi who plays a very good psycho. Con Air is filled with many different things. Some scenes you're on the edge of your seat. While other times you're laughing because of the humor that John Malkovich put's on the screen. One of my favorite scenes was when the prisoners were singing and dancing to "Sweet Home Alabama", which you have to see to believe. After all the gore, the humor, and the suspense, there's a love between a father and his daughter. It's sweet and s...
