Not great, but you must consider it is hard to top these guys' first project, Scary Movie. I watched this one immediately after taking a walk down memory lane with our favorite ol' horror parody. Being worn out on the old jokes, I can say I was quite satisfied with the cast and the jokes. The opening scene (like in SM) was a perfect way to relax and dull the brain into a numbing, non-intellectual state. I was actually a little scared that I wouldn't have any idea which movies this was parody-ing... but I actually caught several of them. A lot of American Pie bashing was here (a plus) ... replacing Jason Biggs with the nerdy girl, who also connects as the lead in 10 things I hate about you (a movie I dispised). Plus a bonus of Cruel Intentions, Bring It On, and She's All That were tossed in like a salad dressing. I think that this movie was tremendously funny, but I'm now 11 years out of high school, and find it all so ridiculous that this actually worked for me quite well. Don't get me wrong, this film is the lowest common denominator in terms of comedy. It has a lot of scatological humor, some fairly demeaning female stereotypes and some really good laughs. It's not Shakespeare, but it will be a purchase for my DVD collection. And the only other comedy besides "Scary Movie" and "The Emperor's New Groove." | | Static Link |

This Sunday me and my girlfriend went to see Not Another Teen Movie. From the very first second it started I knew it was going to be bad. I love Spoof movies but nowadays the spoofs are crap. Good spoofs are airplane, naked gun series, hot shots series, Repossessed, Spy hard, Wrongfully accused etc. Nowadays we get spoofs like Scary movie 1 and 2 (2/10) and This awful piece of crap (1/10). What happened to the good spoof makers who actually made the jokes funny and didn't rely on sex jokes and gross out humor. That humor has gone to far and isn't funny at all. Now why did I hate this. First off I'll admit I'm not a very big fan of teen movies even though I'm a teen.(19) I liked a few but must were stupid and pointless. This movie made all those movies look like Oscar Nominees. Not Another Teen Movie is OK for what it is...a rude crude, and sometimes funny parody of countless teen films both from the 80's and the 90's. They take a little something from everything in this film but mainly from She's All That which I haven't seen but I pretty much know what happens...I found the young actors in this film more funny and engaging than the Freddie Prince Jr.s and Rachel Leigh Cook's. The shy girl, popular jock and his cruel sister were all decent I thought. A lot of jokes fall flat, and some are just sickening...I liked certain references but the highlight is the dance number...overall an OK Teen film that is just as good as most of the movies it makes fun of. | | Static Link |

It was pretty much filled with college guys,and I was the only one there who had to come with their mother! It started off with a funny scene with the dildo. A couple of cheap laughs there,but nothing really "lol" funny. I could point out most of the parody's,but some of them were just really stupid. Did they really have to show that girl naked all the time? Every damn time she would appear,the guys behind me where Hootin' and hollarin'. That got pretty damn annoying after the 5th time. It is not a '10', as Airplane is. Airplane was above the crudeness. They took the attitude of here are the jokes - if you don't get them, screw you. NOT is in your face. Right at the beginning one of the characters says, "I heard there is an old undercover cop posing as a student" Enough for Airplane. Here, in bright yellow behind him is a memo that says, "Attention, there is an old undercover cop posing as a student". So its been dumbed down for today's audience. The jokes are constant. There is no pause. Several cameos make for several 'Oh Wows!'. There are references to older movies too - see if you can catch the line from Ferris Beuler's Day Off. This is a well down adult movie. The first half an hour was ok and the rest of the movie went downhill from there.. It is stupid, unfunny, and disgusting, but hey what do you expect from a teen movie? a best picture nom? I don't think so... It was an average movie, one that could have been alot better, but also one that could have been alot worse. It was almost like someone gave me laughing gas before seeing this movie because I just couldn't stop laughing. First of all this movie has the hottest chicks in it. OH MY GOD!!! And getting to see a lot of hot naked chicks was a big plus. A lot of the girls in the theater were groaning because this movie has tits galore. And all the girls get is a fat guys ass in the lockeroom, glad I'm not a chick, of course if I was I'd be a lesbian anyway. You guys all know the story, so I'll spare you the details. What I liked: The cast for the most part was great. Chris Evans as The Popular Jock was hilarious, he was so hammy just like a young George Hamilton. Mia Kirshner (Catherine - The Cruelest Girl in School) was deliciously funny as the Jock's sister. They have the Cruel Intentions style relationship here and it was hilarious.
Chyler Leigh as The Pretty Ugly Girl Janie is one hottie. WOW! Jaime Pressley and the rest of the principal characters were funny, all of them hamming it up and going beyond camp. The references to all of the teen movies was great.
