Very enjoyable. I thought the sequel was much more intelligent and on the whole, better, but this was still a good film. Very original and intense, with good special effects (for it's day!). 9/10 (that or 8/10, I don't like giving .5 marks) BTW, how many Terminator threads have there been now? I seem to have posted in a lot lately...

If this wasn't labeled as an action film, I would have liked it a lot better. Frankly, for an action film, it seemed awfully slow to me. Not as much as it's sequel, but it still seemed to move at a lethargic pace, the action scenes weren't that great, and there was no humor, which I think is something that helps action flicks a lot. 5/10

Excellent action-packed film! One of Arnie's greatest movies of all time. Though it is a great film it doesn't quite make it to a score of 10. 9.9/10

The Terminator Review: A good movie overall, but not what I was expecting. I liked what James Cameron did with the low amount of money he had. IMO, he can make almost anything work, money or little money. Some parts of the film I thought really could've been cut short. As it grew toward the end, I did get a tad restless. I did dig the robot Terminator (you know, the machine under Arnie). Though it did look a big cheesy as it moved.... but thats just something I noticed. Overall, a pretty good film. I would choose it's sequel anytime, but I still enjoyed myself when viewing. 7/10 or B

Quote: The second one is much much better though, a lot more human I think a part of the reason I like T1 better is because it is more human. Ya know, the two main characters are human. The whole lone unarmed soldier fighting a seemingly indestructable machine is very appealing, versus two nearly indestructable machines fighting. I guess it doesn't have the mother/son thing going.. They're both fantastic movies I'm proud to own though.

T2 is good, very good, but certainly NOT better than Terminator. Why do you say that as if it's wrong for someone to think Terminator 2 is better than The Terminator? Anyway, onto my review: The Terminator is a dark, gritty, highly entertaining sci-fi action movie with an excellent story and a great cast. The effects are awesome, the action sequences are exhilirating, and the story is refreshing. One of the things that I love most about The Terminator is that director James Cameron doesn't hold back on the violence. This isn't a movie where innocent people are spared. If you get in the way of the Terminator you're a goner. Not a lot of movies nowadays a...

This was a great movie. Very suspenseful and well-shot, with great effects for its day. 9/10 The second one is much much better though, a lot more human and way more action-packed.

A fantastic film! So much action, and the sex scene was pretty intense but well shot so it didn't seem like porno. Arnold's best film to date IMO 9/10 The Sequel isn't as good as the first but still worth a watch 8/10. 2 down one to go

9/10 Classic. Arnold's but naked walk at the start was such a treat. I could see his doodle for a second. After walking around looking hot for a while, he then goes and sticks his hand into some punks chest, and you get a shot of his hand covered in blood. I also like the scene when his fixing his eyeball. This movie kicks all kinds of ass. This movie is pretty much perfect. Lots of tension, and had many classic scenes. I just didn't like the effects at the end with the metal terminator...they were vomit like. Besides that problem, this movie still kicked ass.

Terminator and T2 are both as good as each other. That's what makes Cameron so smart (and yet sort of predictable) with his sequels and follow-ups. He has a good mind to looking at the Winning Formula, the ideas behind the thing, the certain scenes that people loved the best, the structure of the plot, and replicating it, only BIGGER. He's done it several times, and I really respect him for it.

"Yeah, the sequal was better by a long shot. My all time favorit movie " I disagree. But to each his own. Oh yeah. I still love it when Arnold says "Wrong". Who knew one word could be so great?

I have a question about the UK edition Terminator VHS. Why is it rated 18 while the DVD is rated 15. Surely it should be the other way around as the DVD features more footage. Does any one know why because this as been bothering me for months.

Well, this movie's pretty good, but I prefer the sequel, where Arnold doesn't still look like himself, Pumping Iron-era.

1984 - Cyberpunk Director: James Cameron (The Abyss) Cast Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator) - The Terminator Michael Beihn (Aliens) - Sgt. Kyle Reese Linda Hamilton (Dante's Peak)- Sarah Conner What I like about this movie is that it's a futuristic movie, but takes place in the present, with event's that could effect the furture. But at the same time it has great visual effects that are ahead of it's time. The movie starts off with two time travilers. They have two very different goals, but the same target. Kyle Reese (Beihn) has been sent back through time to protect Sarah Conner (Hamilton), mother to the leader of the human resistance. At the same time The Terminator (Schwarzenegger) has been sent back to kill her. James Cameron takes the "Man vs Machine" cleche to a whole new level. On the machie side The Terminator plays an infiltaration machine, so it look's like has has the features of a human (skin, hair, voice, ect), but underneth it's a very tough cybourg. On the human side is Resse, he pla...
