Jim Carrey and Martin Landau also give wonderful performances. My only gripe is that the last twenty minutes of the blacklist hearings seemed unnecessary and tacked on. Other than that this was another great movie from Frank Darabont. The man can do no wrong in my eyes. Score - 8/10 | | Static Link |

Frank Darabont, once again, perfectly captures an era and the characters who lived in it. This is a film for those who LOVE movies, and not the craft of filmmaking, per se, but WATCHING a movie with a sold-out audience, and experiencing it. If that sounds like you, you'll love this film too. 9/10, one of 2001's best! | | Static Link |

After watching the near 3 hours that this movie runs I was whowed by how good the story was and how good the movie was in general. Only Carrey's performance in Truman Show is better than the preformance that was put on by Carrey in the Majestic. It's a tale about a Hollywood writer who sends his car over a bridge and washes up on shore a few towns down the river. When he awakes, he doesn't remember anything about his life and all the people in the town mistake him for a World War II hero that has been missing for around 9 years. Just to get it out of the way, Bruce Campbell makes a cool appearence in this movie. He plays the hero in Carrey's movie that he makes. Although Bruce is only on screen for about 30 seconds, if you get the DVD there is this feature called Movie Within A Movie where they show an entire 5 minute fight scene from that movie.... | | Read Entire Entry |
