A fantasy arouser if life if abit too easy; and one needs to imagine the worst; to feel some gratitude...but hey...it takes all kinds. | | Static Link |

Trapped takes a formulaic plot and with good acting (even by Courtney Love) and a solid script, manages to rise above its genre, much like Insomnia did. I found Trapped to be MUCH MORE convincing than the insipid and plot contrived "Panic Room" (kid in crisis..etc) This little girls acting grab me by the nut hairs and didnt let go whenever she was on the screen. | | Static Link |

This is yet another movie that looked pretty cool, but I chose to wait. And it delivers nicely! The trailer and advertising didn't do it justice, since It seemed like a pretty typical and predictable "thriller". But I actually stayed in tune with what was going on, and wondered what things would be like if I were in this situation ... probably on either side of the fence. In short, kidnapping children and such just isn't my idea of a great plot, but at the very least the characters were convincing, the pace isn't too bad, and I didn't have to see Kevin Bacon's penis again. That being said, it was exactly as good as it should have been. | | Static Link |

Ofcoarse, things don't go as planned. First there are unforseeable events such as the fact that the little girl is asthmatic and they didn't know it. That causes some problems. Then things really start to unravel when mother and father start gaing some controll. The performances are solid. Theron, Bacon, Townsend and Love aren't exactly challanged by their roles but they are solid. The acting standout is young Dekota Fanning who is remarkable as the asthmatic child. She could be a real star. The movie looks and feels like it was shot hand held so the direction is a little herky jerky and takes some time getting use to but the moving around calms down after awhile. The movie moves a... | | Read Entire Entry |

A well written film, even though The ending was a little corny in my opinion. The film kept me on the edge of my seat nearly the entire film. Charlize Theron (My future wife) did a great job, even though she didn't have much to say throughout the film. Even courtney Love impressed me a little. The director didn't waste time and made a straight to the point no nonsense film, which I like most of the time, but this time, it pushed me away a little, because by the time you learn about the little secret that the bay guys are hiding, you don't really have much time to react to it, then you find that when the film ends, you really didn't care in the first place. BUT I still liked this film, tense, gripping, fun. RATING 7.5/10 | | Static Link |

But this movie was very enterteining, had some very decent acting and I did care for Charlize and her daughter. The "bad guys", Courtney Lover(Hehe) and Kevin Bacon were both great.Mr. Bacon and eggs is always enjoyable and Courtney looks pretty here. The rest of the cast(Townsend, Fanning, etc.) was also good. This movie had some really cool tense moments, and a killer airplane on the highway scene, I loved that part.It has ir flaws, but what else do you want from this movie?.It has action, good thrills, great acting and itīs very enterteining. Trapped was a good movie.I had fun watching it.A really good thriller. Sad Man(2003) | | Static Link |

Her husband Will[Stuart Townsend] is now out of town for a business meeting. So she is left alone with her young daughter Abby[Dakota Fanning] until he gets home. But soon Abby is kidnapped by a cunning man named Joe[Kevin Bacon]. Now Karen must follow all of Joe's rules and demands for the next 24 hours, that is , if she wants to see her daughter again. The performances all shine. Charlize Theron gives one of her best performances, proving she's got more than a killer body and a pretty face. She makes us feel for her character and we root for her in the end. Kevin Bacon is also great as the kidnapper Joe, who's more untrustwrothy than he looks. As with Jack Nicholson did in "The Shining", sometimes his facial expressions do all the acting. Dakota Fanning[the girl from "I Am Sam"] also does a gre... | | Read Entire Entry |

| Posted by: Puck Bond at September 26, 2002, 9:16 pm | | Topic: Reviews: Trapped Forum: JoBlo | | Trapped is a tight, taut, fast paced thriller that basically delivers what it sets out to do. The story concerns the kidnapping of a young girl played by Dakota Fanning of I Am Sam fame from a young, wealthy couple played by Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend. Kevin Bacon plays Joe the kidnapping mastermind...who has basically set up the perfect plan...to basically kidnap everyone involved...the young girl, the mother and her husband. All are held at three different places by three different people. Everything is taken care of within 24 hours and constant contact is made to ensure nothing wrong is going on. According to Joe this eiminates the problems of ransom notes, messy drop-off and collection points and this also eliminates the involvemet of the police or the FBI. A perfect kidnapping scheme that we learn has worked on 4 other occasions...until now. Charlize Theron is very good as a feisty young mother who fights back...the scenes with her and Bacon are superb and what fuel this film. Courtney Love sho... | | Read Entire Entry |
