It's typical family comedy with lots of laughs, good performances and something to always remember. If I'm going to have children, then I will definitely show this film to them. Robin Williams annoys me now, but in this film he was wonderful and proved his comedic talents to us, whatever happened to him now? I just don't find him funny anymore. Sally Field is one of my favorite actresses working today, she did well with what she had to do in this film and delivered a solid performance, even if she is far better in Drama films. The script works great and is perfect for this type of movie that can bring lots of joys and laughs to the whole family, it never goes over the top and the humor never becomes annoying, it's just great family entertainment; however, I didn't find the children very believable in the movie, I'm not too big on child actors and the ones in this film just didn't perform so well IMO, and I do loathe Pierce Brosnan, who I think is... | | Read Entire Entry |

Chris Columbus' Mrs. Doubtfire is a delightful family comedy about a man who goes to desperate lengths to spend time with his children. On the surface, it's a sweet family film with a good message and many jolly good laughs. And that's what it is on the inside, too. No suprises here, but it more than delivers on it's promise of gut-busting laughs, honey-dipped messages, and fine performances. Is it perfect? I'd say yes. For a family comedy, it's damn perfect.
