I was not let down in the least bit and I am dying to cop the DVD. This was a TRUE action flick. Now I think Arnie just needs to do a sequel to another one of my favorite action movies.....True Lies. Don't hit me....I love that film. Later | | Static Link |

You could probably sum up any movie, including the first two Terminators, with those few words. It doesn't make T3 any less complex or worthy of a movie than either of its predecessors. ie. The Terminator - A cyborg is sent to the past from the future to kill a woman who will give birth to the future leader of the human race who fight machines who are trying to annihilate humans and rule the world. A man is sent to protect her, and through many chases the woman manages to survive to fulfill her destiny. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: RogueSpear at November 12, 2003, 1:08 pm | | Topic: Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines Forum: JoBlo | | I just completed my second viewing of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and have a different outlook on the film now. After my first viewing I was left very disappointed. The movie just didn't really do anything for me. There was nothing new brought to the table as everything just felt like a rehash of the first two movies. However, upon viewing the film again I found a lot to like. Sure it's unoriginal. Sure, it lacks the passion and hard-edged nature of Cameron's films, but it's still a damn fun film. The action sequences are exciting, the T-X is somewhat cool though not breathtaking, it's good to see Arnold back in the leather and shades and the ending was surprisingly downbeat. Kudos also go to Nick Stahl for making me believe he really was John Connor. This is easily the worst of the series, but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. It just has very stiff competition as the first two are two of my favorite movies ever. I think the series should end here though. If they decided to make a fourth it would j... | | Read Entire Entry |

My thoughts on T3 were being influenced by the opinions of all the naysayers, but i tried to ignore all of that and formulate my own opinion. Letting other opinions influence your own tends to ruin films for many people. After watching all three films back to back, i feel that T3 holds up very well and it simply gets better with each viewing. There is a chance that you might like the film more once you see it on DVD. When i saw it on DVD, it was like watching it for the first time. | | Static Link |

I would rather see all the events of T3 transpire in their entirety. The Rise of the Machines is a very important part of the Terminator story, if not the most important, so it shouldn't be given such a shitty treatment. If T2's inferior story was given a whole film to develop, then T3 deserved nothing less. When you gave T3 a 10/10 in your first review, you were praising everything about the film, including the way the story was handled and the acting. You even said that it was the best Terminator film. I have to ask, what did you see in these repeated viewings that caused you to change your mind about the film so drastically? | | Static Link |

| Posted by: PorcheRacer at November 9, 2003, 12:02 pm | | Topic: Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines Forum: JoBlo | | Like many, I had my reservations going into T3. Linda Hamiltion deemed the script terrible, Edward Furlong is also absent due to drug problems and James Cameron also passed on the project. Things were not looking good but then I seen the great looking trailers and T.V. spots. My expectations were raised but I wasn't expecting anything to great. I expected it to be a fun action flick but not nearly as good a the previous entries. In the first five minutes of T3 my reservations absolutely vanished and I knew this was going to be one hell of a trip! Jonathan Mostow does a GREAT job. He brings the series back to it's darker roots in terms of tone and visual style. It's definatley more akin to the first Terminator flick then T2. Mostow brings his own flavor to the movie and doesn't copy Cameron's style. He keeps the pace breakneck but doesn't overshadow the characters and plot with action. Speaking of action; T3 has one of the best action sequences I have ever seen and that would be the amazing chase through the ... | | Read Entire Entry |

The picture and audio quality are jaw dropping, and the extras are pretty high quality for a standard release. In addition, the commentary by Jonathan Mostow is a gem. | | Static Link |

Not as good as the first and second, but still worthy of being there with the other terminator movies, and the 3rd had little plot. Still very good tho. 8.5/10 | | Static Link |

| Posted by: Sad man at November 6, 2003, 7:24 pm | | Topic: Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines Forum: JoBlo | | T3: RISE OF THE MACHINES - 7/10 (B) Not as good as the second one, but definitely better than the first one and one hell of an action ride. From start to finish this is a non stop action movie. With likable characters, awesome visual effects, really cool action scenes and one of the best endings of the year. Although I was a bit dissapointed about the plot. We only get to know a few things about the story of the Judgment Day, the Terminator and the future. But it was still a very good summer, popcorn action movie that I liked a lot and that I will probably buy or just rent to see it again. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: Mike at November 6, 2003, 6:14 pm | | Topic: Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines Forum: JoBlo | | TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES (2003) Now this is a REAL summer blockbuster. I don't even have to see another big budget summer movie to know that nothing will be able to top this impressive thrill ride. T2 and T3 are hands down the two best action movies I've ever seen. I expected a good time from this third entry, but I didn't expect it to quite live up to T2. However, it turned out to be a very worthy sequel. Fun from beginning to end. With as much fun as I was having, I never got the chance to get bored. The time flew right by and the movie actually seemed short. In an action movie, you really can't ask for much more. This one delivers the goods. It's not some "brilliant" film, but it's not a mindless music video like xXx either. In fact, it actually does have a pretty solid story, which is amazing considering it's pretty much non-stop action. I just can't get over how fun this movie is. It's a BLAST! Fun, Fun, Fun, and more FUN! There's also quite a few laughs to be found. Whenever Arnold ... | | Read Entire Entry |
