That'd be me then. No actually, I quite enjoyed this film - watching it for the first time only recently. I'm surprised I hadn't seen it earlier, because at a younger age I had seen a Temple of Doom and enjoyed it whole heartedly. It's obvious that, like Star Wars, Lucas and Spielberg attempted (and succeeded) to recapture the boyhood spectacle of action adventure Saturday morning shorts that they no doubt relished at younger ages - & that's the very essence of the film - a bit of fun best watched sitting up on your knees with a bowl of cereal or popcorn. The supernatural themes towards the end are incongruous and faulter in consequence. And, while maybe Harrison Ford could have afforded to change his facial expression every now and then, he encaptures and carries the masculine body of the film that has a child inspired mind at the controls. | | Static Link |

This movie is one of the fucking best movies of all time. Harrison Ford is my favorite actor of all time. This movie has everything a great movie needs: a great script, great acting, great action, great comedy, and freaking great everything. Perfectly embedded in this movie are great characters, villains, a great director, story, plot, ending, etc. etc. etc. And most of all, it's believable that the events could actually happen (to an extent, yes, but for the most part). This movie has everything. Romance, Comedy,Drama and Adventure. Harrison plays Indiana Jones, a archeologist who is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant. But Nazi forces also want the lost Ark, so it is a race to see who will reach the Ark first. Along with Indiana is Marion Ravenwood, played by Karen Allen. this is by far the best film that harrison ford has ever done. Although i feel that Tom Selleck would have been equally as good. One of the things i love about Harrison Ford is that face he puts one when he is mad. In this film it appears alot. I also love the music in this film. This film is based in the 30's and thankfully the makers saw fit to use music that would have not have been out of place in that period.
I also love the dry hunour that appears in this film, such as when Jones shoots the sword fighter, also when the monkey does the hitler salute like his master. It is a sin and a testiment to how missleading the oscars are that this film did not win anything significant. | | Static Link |

A perfect adventure, and probably the best adventure film ever made. Just knowing you can sit there during each viewing, knowing each coming piece of dialogue, and scene by heart. Some films I get tired of after watching a few times, but with this I don't. Each scene is perfect, placed in the right spot--not a wrong step or move is made by Spielberg, the cast, the script. Harrison Ford was born to play Indiana Jones. He nails the humor dead-on. I can't believe they wanted Tom Selleck to play Jones. It surely wouldn't have been the same. My favorite scene comes when Ford and Karen Allen have just come from the incredible chase sequence on the trucks. They are in a room on a big ship taking a rest. Frankly, this movie is my favorite ever since I've seen it, and I gotta precise it's the first movie I ever saw. And in case you wouldn't trust me, I'll have you noticed it is also the favorite movie of both Cameron Diaz and M.Night Shyamalan. As you see, great spirits have common interests. Anyway, back to the movie. Well, what can I say that we don't already know? This movie is the one movie the word "adventure" was invented for. The plot is simple but amazingly intersting, the characters are all ones that you'll remember (especially Indy, Belloq, Marion, Sallah, Marcus...everybody!), and it just doesn't stop moving during the whole flick. Great action flick after great mythological presentation after fun and sometimes cheesy dialogue...you just can't stop this movie before it's finished. The directing by Steven Spielberg is terrific, and the cast is one of the best ever assembled -- and Harrison Ford and Karen Allen form a very attractive couple.
