Quentin Tarantino said "I havn't laughed harder and longer at a movie since I could remember" and I cant agree more. This movie is filled to the brim with outrageous stunts, unbelivably painful ones at that, and any fan of the TV show or true sato-mastachistic guy will love it. Jackass may be too intense for some (I could never imagine watching this with my folks) but still its one hella funny movie, well not as much of a movie as a documentary of stupid stunts. I was expecting to hate Jackass. Didn't think much of the series anyway. And although this is not a movie (merely a collection of sketches), it is actually funny. At times, very funny indeed. As in fall out of your chair in pain laughing funny. Yeah I know, dumb stunts, so why did I like it. Well, some of it was... in a crude, stupid kind of way... inspired. The opening (with that bit of classical music over all the guys hurtling down a road in a huge shopping trolley) is just a hilarious image. Wee Man hiding under a traffic cone is side-splitting. The air-horns at the golf tournament was agonisingly amusing, even satisfying. At times, this is funnier than most proper comedy movies... joke being it never tries to be a conventional movie. The rest of it balances this out, sadly. This movie is obviously for a very targeted audience, mainly teenage boys. If you're the kind of person who loves seeing people hurt themselves, then this is definately for you. It was a show that most assholes would coin as a low intelligence type of show, but that shit doesnt matter when you just wanna laugh yourself silly. And the movie was just basically the best of the show and uncut so it was just a non stop laugh-fest. Along with the rest of the crowd, my buddies and I couldnt stop laughing. Every skit had its own valie. Althought the movie doesnt have a plot or anything, it doesnt mean its a bad film at all. I seen people of all ages laughing and it was one of the greatest movie atmospheres ive ever enjoyed being in. It was one of those films where everyone in the crowd would get into and everyone was on the same page. If you want to get somewhat serious about the film i will say the film does suceed in being a very original film. These guys are pulling some really original tricks that most would never imagine doing and sometimes pulling them off to make us laugh. (something about yellow snow made me wanna puke) but since there were no sensors, the guys were able to do some stuff that wasn't avaliable in the MTV show. everyone likes to see people get hurt. it's fun.
