This movie makes me want to go out and buy Equilibrium. That movie should have gotten a wider theatrical release, it deserved it more than this one, IMO. | | Static Link |

I would find myself just looking around my room, at the ceiling, the wall, the lights, etc... After over an hour, it got better and was more interesting, but it still didn't work for me as a whole. The fight with Keanu and all of the agents wasn't that interesting. It was like "let's throw in a fight, one that you've seen a million times before, just to make things interesting and wake the audience up." Even the rave/sex scene bored me. The freeway scene was pretty decent though. Nothing great, but more interesting than anything that happened before it. The first Matrix was a surprise to me, and actually pretty good. After this second installment though, I don't really care about seeing Revolutions. Movies like this really make me appreciate good sci-fi/action movies like Minority Report and Equilibrium. I did not like the Burly Brawl, simply because i thought I was watching a Pixar film, but I totally loved the Freeway scene, and thought it may be one of the best action sequences put onto film. 6/10 | | Static Link |

| Posted by: darkface at October 28, 2003, 2:42 am | | Topic: THE MATRIX RELOADED (2003) Forum: JoBlo | | at first, the merovingian scene was unneccesasary i thought. But that's why this is a numerous viewing type of movie. The scene is great for the plot, cause it showed that one dude that we see breifly, it shows mero has the keymaker, mero can munipulate the matrix, and write programs, persephone gives the idea that he might be a previous 'one'. It opens the scene for Persephone, and gives an insight into their relationship. And we can't forget the major point of the converstation, to every cause, there's an effect. It describes the cause and effect theory, and neo uses that theory many times throughout the matrix series. It also introduces the hench men, for the chataeu scene, and shows the twins. This is the type of stuff that i love about the movie. People say the plot is stupid, or there is no plot, but you have to be a fan of the series to really get into the plot, and look further into the metaphors, the names, and scenerios. Not to mention the kickass action to go along with it. | | Static Link |

It's my favorite movie of 2003 so far, and I give it somewhere between a 9 and 10/10. Great, albeit frustrating cliffhanger, amazing action scenes, engaging characters and plot, ah...everything's damn near perfect. | | Static Link |

I understood him the first time (Well, what he said, his words also crafted many new mysteries), but I understand why some people don't understand him, because his choice of words is rather complex at times. Anyway, here's my review: The Matrix Reloaded Date Reviewed: May 15, 2003 **Some possible minor spoilers throughout** Very rarely is a sequel able to equal, let alone exceed it’s predecessor. Sure, there have been a few over the course of time with Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Aliens being two of the more noteworthy ones, but there have been more failures than successes. With that in mind, The Matrix Reloaded seemed poised to be the greatest movie sequel of all time. In the end, it’s nothing more than one of the greatest disappointments of all time. When last we left Neo at the end of The Matrix he was just starting to realize his potential. Flash forward a couple of months to where Neo, Morpheus, Trinity, and new crew member Link are onboard the Nebuchanezzer traveling back to the hidden city of Zion. Enjoyed the philosophy, enjoyed the action, enjoyed the dialogue. This is not your run of the mill action movie. Its something else, something special. The fight scenes (in particular Neo vs. Agent Smith to the power of 783828?!?) were breath-taking. As a second installment of a trilogy, everything about this movie is dead on. Sure the Zion party scene was a tad tidious, but hey, if you knew UFOs were invading earth within 24 hours, what the hell would you be doing? Obviously partying, or trying to get your hands on the STANLEY CUP (somehow)....eh I'm Canadian!! The best movie of the year. 10/10 I'm there on Nov 5 waiting in line | | Static Link |

It contains some of the worst dialogue in cinema history. Whilst the action and effects sequences are stunning at first they become a little tedious after fight after fight until the film becomes no more than an over blown video game. 4/10 | | Static Link |

I thought the second entry was sort of a bridge to the third one. It tried to explain more of the world of Zion and did a kick ass job in doing so. The philosophy is the best part of the whole series. Its what makes this one of the best Sci-Fi series of all time. The third Matrix may be one of the greatest films of all time, Keanu Reeves lines from the trailer put a chill down my spine every time... "It ends tonight" | | Static Link |

I realized the only thing that made this movie badass was the "car chase" and Laurence Fishburne. The movie was wwaaay too slow until it actually kicked it and had something that was benifting the story. | | Static Link |

The Matrix Reloaded - ** out of five! A tremendous disappointment! Way too dull and chatty, the first hour seems to drag on forever! Laurence Fishburne becomes especially tiresome as Morpheus, he speaks in nothing but fortune cookie riddles, and just can't ever seem to answer a f#ckin' question straight out when he's asked something! The film's one saving grace is the tremendous 14 minute freeway chase sequence, but you have to sit through an a hour and a half of boring, pretentious, mind-numbing chatter just to get to it! All in all, The Matrix Reloaded is a bitter disappoinemt! And this coming from the guy who thoroughly enjoyed the original Matrix (1999)! | | Static Link |

It's an elaborate computer program which imprisons the mind of humans and allows them only to "dream" a virtual life, similar to our own. A man may think he is a lawyer with a beautiful family and a nice head of brown hair, but he is truly asleep in a small pod, connected to multiple cords, with a head with no hair. Whoa. In 1999, virtually-unknown filmmakers Larry and Andy Wachowski released The Matrix, the amazingly popular sci-fi thriller that introduced the concept above. After taking in over $150 million at the domestic box office alone, it was obvious Warner Brothers would release a sequel, but Larry and Andy had a bigger plan. Green-code covered products assaulted us. The Animatrix, a mix of Japanese anime and CGI-animation, hit stores in DVD-form in summer 2003. The 9 short pieces took us deeper into the Matrix and the real world.
