Im not sure after watching Bad Boys 2 if I saw a very good action movie or waisted two plus hours of my life. I enjoyed the origina movie for one main reason. The interaction between Smith and Lawrence was dead on. They played off each other very well. In this one, they seemed distant amd didnt click too often. Will Smith played the ulta cool, high styling cop while Martin Lawrence had issues from the start, he was upset with Will and was leaving him as a partner. So when they had to work together and coexist, something was just off. I cant understand how Lawrence could go off about not liking his pertner to the two of them hamming it up together as they berate his daughters new date, in a scene that had me rolling on the floor no less. The plot is obvious so Ill skip that. The action sequences, while seemingly "mundane" in action movies now was interesting. They sure threw in a new twist with having a dead body barrage. Which was another moment that I laughed like crazy at. I guess thats the best ...

One kick ass action flick. I went in throwing all logic out and just went in to enjoy an awesome popcorn flick and thats what i got. Will and Martin are perfect together and they have good chemistry. The action is intense. I was surprised on the gore it had but it was no biggie. The laughs are good and so is the booty(Gabrielle Union drool). Kick ass movie. One of my faves of 2003

I wasn't expecting some serious melodrama about two black cops trying to stop an ecstasy dealer in Miami and through rough times, near death experiences, and some soul searching they not only get the bad guy, they find deeper meaning in their partnership and friendship. 'Cuz all that is crap. This movie is basically another attempt by Michael Bay to blow as much shit up as he can, make Will Smith cooler looking, Martin Lawrence funnier, and hot women HOTTER!! No matter what it does to the plot, script, character developments, and anything else that could have made this a better movie. It is a good popcorn movie though, and the combo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is still good. Though some of the banter between the two in the "life threatening situations" got old: "Don't start with that shit, that's the shit I'm talking about, that's how you shoot. . ." It goes on and on. But there were some funny ass scenes including the camera store and the mortuary were some laugh out loud stuff. An...

Wow...just saw it tonite, oops...'yesterday' Loved it, this is the kind of shiz i like. Action! visually great, I like Bay's style of directing shots. He knows how to direct action pieces. Loved the Intersection shootout, which leads to the badass fuckin' MacArthur Causeway chase. Dug that! Brilliantly mixed music with the scene, fits perfectly with that "african/tropical" kind of vibe and 'dark' chords, creating intense, and suspensful feel, a sense of danger to the scene. Great job Trevor Rabin. Other action sequences were sweet, the monorail chase, chase with the coroner's van..etc, and those last 20 minutes of the film, pretty neat. Funny jokes 9/10 - because it's a great action movie, I don't care for all that 'lack of story/plot' bs...the movie was fun! period.

I'm not going to write the "full" review, because for the most part I agree exactly with Jo's review. That said, I think the first hour-and-a-half of this film was GREAT. The 2 hours after that were starting to run a little long, and the 4th and 5th hours of the movie were totally unnecessary. Ok, it wasn't THAT bad, but it felt like it. There's a point in the movie, about half an hour prior to the end, where they have the PERFECT opportunity to END THE MOVIE. Get the bad guy, sieze the drugs, roll the fucking credits. Did they? nooooooooooo. They decided to throw us another twist and then move the whole story to another country, and blow up some new mansion that is located convieniently close to a US military base (what great luck, eh?). It may have looked cool, but served NO PURPOSE whatsoever in the movie. Cut the length down to under 2 hours, and this would be a solid 7/10 or 8/10 action flick. As is, I was looking at my watch and praying for an exit sign to light up. 5/10

This is one of those few sequels of the summer where the mantra "The more you spend, the better it is" is actually true. There's more action, more comedy, and more curse words than the first movie. It's completely excessive, and that's a good thing in this case. To put it simply, I love this movie. 8.5/10

Bad Boys 2 Dir: Michael Bay Stars: Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Jordi Molla, Gabrielle Union 2003 has not been a bad year at the movies; Pirates Of The Carribbean, Young Adam and Far From Heaven have seen to that and I already have 5 5 star films this year, which is more than twice the total 5 star ratings I gave in 2002 but fear not bad movie lovers Bad Boys 2 is here and it is absolutely apalling. I quite liked the first Bad Boys, the comedy worked well and the action scenes were good fun and so I was hoping for a decent sequel. I didn't get it. Bad Boys 2 how do I hate thee, let me count the ways. 1: This film is FAR FAR too long. It's an action/comedy that runs almost 2 and a half hours. It feels more like 2 and a half days. 2: It has no idea when to end. This film has more climaxes than Jenna Jameson in an 18 hour work day. Every time the (seemingly) climactic action scene kicks in the hopeful audience assumes this horrendous film is coming to its long asked for end and these hopes are dashed time and t...

Sorry, my review is so late........I just got back from a wonderful vacation. I'll keep it short! Come on.......who could pull off this type of comedy action movie other than Will and Martin? Maybe Chris Tucker? Certainly not Chris Rock? I thought it was the best movie I've seen all summer. It had everything I wanted and needed. The action sequences were over the top.......I wanted it. The comedy sequences where on target.......I needed it. Great Summer Flick........full of everything you want and need.

This movie really suprised me. After seeing all the bad reveiws and the long runtime i didnt know what to expect, but it came through in the end. The action scenes were constantly moving at a fast and flashy pace. The camera work really fit the movie and the location, but some of the filters and angles could be turned down a shade, it hurts your eyes after a while. Bay is famous for this and if your are a fan, then that is what you would expect. The voilence and gore in this movie are top notch. They dont hold out on the blood and guts. And if swearing is a big issue for you stay away from this movie. Although it does kinda fit in some parts are overdone. The car chases, gun fights, and explosions are what keep this movie really going. Because of the long runtime, there might be more action in this movie than any other movie. If you go to this movie looking for a accurate and real-life story about drugs and narcotic cops go see a different movie. I recommend Narc. This movie is packed full of laughs and fun ...

BAD BOYS 2 - 2003 Will Smith - Martin Lawrence - Gabrielle Union I consider this film very much alike X2 for several reasons: 1. It's a lot longer than the first film (similar to X2 and X1) 2. It has a more developed and deeper story 3. It has more of everything (action, comedy and swearing) For a long time, I haven’t seen a good sequel (Charlie's Angels, Ace Ventura, Fast and Furious, Dumb and Dumberer [even if prequel]), of course the last good sequel to a good movie was X2, and with X2 also is Shanghai Knights. This movie is a typical popcorn flick as well as a ride (maybe I consider it a ride because of all the half-hour chases). I also agree with JoBlo about the similarity with HEAT during the street shootout after the car chase. After I saw Pirates Of The Caribbean I read reviews about it saying: it was 2h30. Honestly, while watching the Pirates movie I didn't see the time fly by. For Bad Boys 2, even though the movie is good, it was very long and this fact is noticeable. I give most the movie credits ...

I think this year was a great year for sequels where some actually surpassed the original or were great in their own way. (X-Men2, T3 Rise of the Machines, Matrix Reloaded) I haven't seen Tomb Raider yet, but I hear it's not that great, but still better than the original. Bad Boys 2 is no exception. This movie was entertaining and funny as hell. Martin Laurence and Will Smith fire it up again, with great action sequences a la John Woo/Wachowski Brothers, humorous moments at every turn, and lot of hot babes to fill in the blanks. Bad Boys 2 I thought was better than the original just because it kept me at my attention even when the movie is 2 hours and a half. Plot: Mike Lowry (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Laurence) return as the two narcotics detectives who are trying to track down a Cuban drug lord who is smuggling X into Miami while at the same time trying to launder all his money out of the city. I must admit the plot to this movie is kind of tame, and not very creative. But with the chemistry o...

IN SHORT: WOW!! Another summer sequel that excels past the original. THE GOOD:I had such a good time watching this movie, this is what summer movies are all about.First off i must give praise to director Michael Bay for listening to the fans, and providing a funny, action packed film! Some action sequences in this film are so insane you dont know if you should laugh nervously at the insanity of it all or howl with delight. But what really made me howl is the comedic talent of Martin Lawrence, his standout scene being when he has a mini-nervous breakdown after an intense gun fight within the home of a haitian gang, when he sits down and starts talking to the lifeless bodies i laughed so hard i missed some of the lines that followed.Give Lawrence the right script and his own ad-libs and watch this man soar. Will Smith is right there with him, especially in the date interrogation scene. His suave, playboy, andrenaline filled character is the perfect match for the more grounded ,family man Lawrence they worked well togeth...

I bought the first bad boys without ever having seen it a year ago beacuse a friend recommended it. I was blown away by how funny and entertaining it was. When I heard that they were making a sequel it was really happy. Then I heard it was gonna be 2 1/2 hours long and I was kinnda worried about that being too much after awhile and even more so for a buddy cop movie. I was dead wrong when I saw the movie last night. It kicked a whole lot of ass and kept me more than just entertained but interested in the plot and characters. The best buddy cop movie I have ever seen. Also the most shocking and funny. P.S. F*ck you Roger Ebert F*ck You up your Stupid Ass Bad Boys: 8/10 Bad Boys II: 8/10

Bad Boys II- 8/10 Genre: Action/Comedy Year: 2003 Rating: US R/ Can 18A for Nonstop, Explicit Gore, Nudity and Profanity. Director: Michael Bay Cast: Will Smith Martin Lawrence Plot: The bad boys are back and are trying to stop a gigantic shipment of X. My Thoughts: I spent hours thinking this movie over. This wasn't an easy mark to give knowing all of the awful reviews I've read about it. I remember going into it thinking it would be the worst movie I've ever seen but it was far from it. Not that that is saying much at all but in this case (after thinking it over) it is. Director Michael Bay isn't exactly a liked filmmaker (by me in particular). His showboat antics are strictly for those who like swiching their brains off or are just plain ignorant. I mean that in the nicest possible way because ignorance is much different than stupidity. Most people who love Bay's films often don't understand the bad press surrounding the films. This is because normally the people who love his films aren't critics and don'...

8/10 Please keep in mind that this score of eight out of ten is completely relative to the movie as an action/comedy flick - not as an oscar nominee for best screenplay. I went to a screening of this on 7/15 and the audience was packed with anxious Bad Boys fans. I had an absolute blast watching this movie from start to finish. This movie is why I love action flicks. The banter back and forth between the two leads was fast and smooth. The breaks in the action that focused on smith and lawrence's relationship were interesting and humorous enough to hold my interest. The behind-the-action story of ecstasy trafficking was believable (suspension of disbelief slightly present), but the star of this movie - the action - was phenomenal. I found myself shrinking backward into my seat during the close calls in the car chase and impulsively moaning during the action/gore of bodies being blown away. The action was undeniably fast-paced and creative. The jokes, the snappy cop-dialog, and the visuals were all well-receiv...
