I enjoy Scream. It's smart, has some scares, good twists, and a good script that satirizes horror formulas quite well. I was entertained throughout. However, the actors aren't all that great (Matthew Lilliard...), and it was sometimes too winky... 7/10 though, and I'll stand by it.

Here is my review for the movie: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is the first movie in the trilogy. You need to watch this in order to gain understanding and knowledge for the next two. In the first 10 minutes, 2 high school students are murdered: Cassie Becker (Drew Barrymore) and Stephen Orth (Kevin Patrick Walls). The next day the school is sworming with press. As the day progresses, each student is questioned in relation to the victims. Among these questioned are Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell), who's mother was murdered exactly one year earlier. That night while Syd is waiting to her friend, Tatum (Rose McGowanm) to come and take her over to her house, Ghostface pays her a little visit. The police and Deputy Dwight 'Dewey' Riley (David Arquette) come and arrest her boyfriend, Billy Lumas (Skeet Ulrich). Here is where Ghostface begins his/her rampage through Woodsboro. Who could the murderer(s) be... Syd, Tatum, Dewey, Billy, Stu (Matthew Lillard), Gale (Courteney Cox Arquette), Randy (Ja...

I agree with the majority to say that Scream is probably in the Top 5 of teen slashers. What I love is that it managed to make fun of the rules of the movies and the idiocies of the characters. while they were doing the same things. It was also very suspenseful and creative. The opening is great, it has a "Psycho"esque touch to it where the character who's seemingly the lead is knocked off. Drew Barrymore was fantastic, as was Neve Campbell and the rest of the cast. It was kind of like the "Halloween" of its day, it reinvented the genre, while also leaving room for more lesser quality or just awful knockoffs. But still , it's a greta movie. 8/10

SCREAM ~ 10/10 My favourite horror movie of all time and one of my favourite movies of all time. Scream scared the shit out of me when I saw it in theaters, I was just a little boy. I loved it so much that after it got released on video I bought a copy and watched it over and over. The same happened with the sequels, I own them all and love to watch them now and then. But the sequels aren't as good as this one. The acting, the script, the gore, the twists, the kills, everything rocks!

Wow! It's so cool to see all the GREAT reviews for "Scream". I agree with all those who said its one of their favourite movies ever. It's just too much damn fun, and in my opinion the funniest, most well-written and executed slasher film out there. I loved the sequels as well. "Scream" is one of the best films of 1996, and one of my favourite movies ever. Grade: 10/10 Scream 2: 8/10 Scream 3: 8/10

Cool movie, although somewhat overrated. The constant jokey references to other horrorfilms are cute but lessen the overall horror of the film, making it more of a thriller.

From the opening frame, SCREAM hooks you and doesn't let you go until the end. Beginning with a brutal and terrifying scene that is sure to be remembered for many years, Drew Barrymore as the film's first main victim lets you in on what you are about to see. This movie is filled to the brim with outrageous violence you never thought you would see. The garage door sequence was paticularly memorable. This is my all time favorite horror film and film overall. Along with some great kills, it has an excellent story and script mixed with some truly talented actors. Not to be missed. 10/10 (A+)

I hate to admit it but i do enjoy this film,a guilty pleasure for me...i hate how its overrated and its created too many so called "horror lovers who saw only 8 horrors in their live-Scream and the 3 sequels,IKWYDLS and the sequel, and UL and the sequels" but i must say its good- 7/10

The definitive 90's horror movie, and the one that saved the entire genre from the hell of endless sequels and cheesy knockoffs (although it garnered more than a few of those on it's own. Irony, eh?). This had everything, including some hilarious material, and most importantly, the thing that had been missing from horror movies for longer than I care to imagine, SUSPENSE!
8/10.

This was a good, but not great movie. Ironically, I think this movie works better as a straight forward slasher flick than a satire of it. A virtuoso opening sequence that gets the movie to an incredibly intense start. The rest of the movie never matches the greatness of the opening scene but still manages its share of thrills and chills.

This film is a rarity: a teen movie with wit and even a few genuine scares. I mean, Drew Barrymore getting graphically killed off? What more could you ask for? (No disrespect intended. ) I just wish they were content to keep it a stand-alone movie; the sequels kinda ruined it for me. 7/10

Scream What I liked:
-good dialog
-jokes around with older horror movies
-interesting plot/characters
-funny sometimes What I didn't like:
-teen stars
-too predictable
-spawned many teen "slasher" pics which were much worse. For the most part I did like the movie, but I thought it was more of a thriller than the horror movie. Also while I like this movie by itself, after it Hollywood tryed to cash in on its success by making tons of unoriginal crap. Where pennywise46 is coming from:
Scream 7.5/10
Scream 2 6/10
Scream 3 5/10
Urban Legend 5/10
Valentine 4/10
Hollow Man 5/10
IKWYDLS 4/10
Nightmare on Elm Street 7.5/10
Friday the 13th 6.5/10
Halloween 8/10
Psycho 8/10
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 9/10

Scream 10/10 This is my all time favourite movie and will always be my all time favourite movie, I love every thing about it, I like all the characters, all the death scenes, the plot, the ending and everything else in this movie. This is the only movie ever that I have rated ten out of ten because I can’t thing of a single thing wrong with it, any other movie I would be able to find at least one problem with it but not this one. This is also the movie that got me interested in movies in the first place, after watching this I went out and rented a lot of the movies referenced in it and now I’m a huge horror fan, okay like I said to me this movie is perfect and every thing about it is perfect. First the girls…. Neve Campbell is great in this movie, she’s perfect for the main role, and she has the looks, the acting ability and every thing else to pull off then character of Sydney perfectly. Even though Drew Barrymore is only in the first twelve or so minutes she is also great and acts really, really scared and...

David Arquette Not many people agree with me on this, or this whole series, but this is my favorite movie of all time. Great acting, great plot, great twists, great characters. I can't express my love for this movie enough! Young Sidney's mother died a year ago tomorrorw night. At school she finds out that two teen agers have been brutally murdered. Later that night Sidney is attacked by someone in a ghostface mask. The next night there is gonna be a huge party and the killer is probably gonna be there too... This movie is pure fun! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! Ok enough of that, maybe I should tell you why I love it... (1)The Plot- Scream has a simple plot that you don't have to get lost in. And the ending has a very smart twist of who the killer is. (2)The Gore- There is alot of gore in here! That opening scene is nasty ythe first time you see it. (3)The Characters- This is one of the slashers where we know the characters! We know ab...
