definitley the weakest of the trilogy but still very enjoyable, the acting is good and there are a lot of gunfights but i found it to be too long and at times i was very bored. there was also something that didnt work but i couldnt figure out what it was when watching it 7/10

Once Upon A Time In Mexico (2003) Starring Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp & Ruben Blades Plot: Complex plot involving cartels, a retired FBI agent, a 'coup d'etat' and revenge + violent action + Johnny Depp stealing the movie = Once Upon A Time In Mexico! If you have an intense dislike for violence, Johnny Depp and/or all things Mexican, I highly advise you to stay away from the final entry in Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi trilogy...however, if you like violence, Depp and the Mexican culture this movie is perfect for you! Johnny Depp plays Agent Sands, a crooked CIA officer who loves his pork. Depp nails this role and gives the best performance of the movie, making him the most interesting character. I can't picture anyone else playing Sands as perfectly as Depp did. I hope Rodriguez makes a spin-off, because Sands is such a great character. The rest of the cast give good performances as well, but Depp truly steals the movie. Robert Rodriguez is a great director. He may not hav...

Didn't hate this, but sure didn't love it. I enjoyed El Mariachi (8/10) and Desperado (7/10), but this was just decent. The plot was a mess, many great and?or hot actors were underused (Willem Dafoe and Mickey Rourke, as well as Salma), and it wasn't all that gripping. Some fun violence and camerawork upped the ante, as well as a great Depp performance, but overall this seemed like Rodriguez just put all the things he thought were cool in one flick (although some of it was prety nifty. 6/10

I liked the movie also. I remember not liking Desperado, but I gave Mexico a chance when it went to theaters. I was glad I did. It was a fun movie. Ya, it wasn't one of the all time greatest movies, but it was a solid action flick. Johnny Depp was superb in this. He was such a likeable bastard. When it came in dvd, I bought all three movies at best buy for like $25. The first one sucked royally, but at seeing part two, I saw some progress and three stands out as the best. I think those who haven't seen it should give it a chance. At least to see another great performance by Depp. Thank you

One of my guilty pleasures of last year. The plot was a mess and a lot of the characters were wasted, but I got a kick out of all the amoral violence.

OUATIM was so uninteresting. I just oculdnt keep my eyes on teh screen, I remember only a few scenes that really drew me in, this was such a disappointment. I thought I was guaranteed a good time, with this all-star cast, but I found myself completely lost about an hour into it. The ending was also a disappointment. biggest complaint? WASTE of SALMA!

Johnny Depp saved another action movie of mediocrity, though this wasn't as good as Pirates of the Caribbean (7/10). The 2nd half is only when the movie gets interesting, but it's a somewhat enjoyable movie hampered by a lot of actors being underused, and a needlessly complicated plot

This movie looked horrible. I didn't even like the first two movies. I didn't see it in theaters because of that. My sister saw it though and said it sucked. I will give it a rent when it comes out on DVD here. I never liked Antonio Banderas, I don't care about Salma Hayeck, I like Johnny Depp and I hate Enrique Iglesias (I started hating him after I was forced to see him live . The only thing he did was to rubb his boys while hugging some crazy fan...disgusting.) Anyway, I have all the reasons to avoid this movie, but since I'm an idiot I will see it anyways.

I had planned on staying away from this movie, because it just looked dumb. But before going into this thread I thought "If Thompsoncory liked it maybe I'll give it a chance." Well, that didn't happen, and neither will me renting it.

I just rented this today expecting a good action movie. What I got was a horrible, disappointing and disgusting action movie where the only saving grace is a passable performance from Johnny Depp, who at least makes SOME parts of the movie entertaining. The violence is crude and even shocking at times, and the movie could be classified as a foriegn film even since more than 75% of the film is spoken in Spanish. Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, and several other talented actors are wasted in this movie, but that isn't the worst of it. The worst part is that the action scenes are hilariously choreographed and make you laugh rather than glance in awe. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it sure didn't seem like it to me. 4/10 (D+)
