Im sure people will make connections to 9/11 in their minds as they watch the movie, but the book is more about 1980's Regan Era Nuclear Armageddon Paranoia (wow, cant believe I just came up with that) plus, the movie takes place almost entirely in 1985. Though Im sure as people watch it, they will adapt it to their current life experiences, 9/11 included. More then anything though, I hope that like in the book, what shines through is humanity (and yes hokey as it may sound, LOVE) in the midst of all the chaos. I hope the movie sticks to its roots and doesnt pussy out on the ending, which knowing how hollywood works will more then likely be the case. I guess some sacrafices can be expected for a story of this magnitude to get to the silver screen. ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Forum: JoBlo | | I've never really been into graphic novels (boring much?), so when I tried to read Watchmen, I couldn't get past the first few pages. However, this movie looks... like it could be really, really good. That song in the trailer was seriously amazing! I'll wait until I see some more trailers to decide if I want to see this, though. | | Static Link |

Watchmen is officially one of my most anticipated films of 2009. The trailer makes me all the more excited for the panel at the Comic-Con next week. I'm sure Zack Snyder will have something really cool to show the attendees. Strider | | Static Link |
