For you movie trivia fans out there . . . there have been SIX actors who have received posthumous Oscar nominations: Peter Finch, Jeanne Eagels, James Dean, Spencer Tracy, Sir Ralph Richardson, and Massimo Troisi. James Dean actually got TWO nominations after his death and Peter Finch is the only one of the bunch to actually win (for Network). So it has happened . . . and it could happen again!!!!!!!!!

Let me get this straight: You think that because not many dead actors are nominated Heath will never get nominated? That's bullshite. The Academy is suppose to vote on best performance, not whether or not the actor is still living. And not that many actors have died the year they released an earth shattering performance so you statement is being based on nothing. Heath did a damn good job as the Joker and I think he deserves at the least a nomination for his role. If he was being hyped up for a nomination just because of his death then he would also be nominated for his role in I'm Not There (which I also thought was great but not to the level of Dark Knight).

I agree that overall , Nolan has captured a hypnotic visual landscape with regards to the actors . I can't leave out the cinematographer because obviously that's the person filming everything . They always seemed to utilize the proper angle to affect a certain mood or emotion and they knew when to get close or to take things back a bit . The framing of each shot is powerful , it was to the point that the cinematography became it's own character , it no doubt enhanced the excellent performances , and although i did have a problem with the way the finale in the building was filmed , all the other action scenes were expertly captured , with great lighting and judicious use of editing . There's only a few directors with this ability , PT Anderson and Scorcese come to mind , but Nolan obviously has this gift also . Here's something to think about , from what i recall , there was not one instance of slow motion in this film , or was there any cross fades , dissolves , it was all hard cuts , nothing fancy with the ...

Like I said before, I'd rather see someone like Christina Ricci take the role. She was more famous when she was a kid, so it would be interesting to see this one push her back into the lime light. She was really good in Black Snake Moan. I could see her doing the banter scenes with Batman perfectly. Damn straight. The visual quality of the film is pretty rich. There's a lot to take in. I think it's definitely Nolan's greatest looking film to date. How he chose to film the characters was my favorite part. I have seen it three times, twice in IMAX, and I always found myself studying the characters' faces. In this one, Batman's new suit actually really defined him in a new way. Bale seemed so much more comfortable as Batman this time around and it showed in the new suit. His movements were so much more economical and had power. Two-Face looked great. I thought the effect looked rough enough for me not to notice that it was CGI. Usually CG...

Well worth it, and I'll be getting the DVD when it comes out on Day #1. As for the next installment and potential villains and actors playing those villains, (and I promise not to bring up The Riddler ), I found the article below pretty intriguing. http://celebedge.sympatico.msn.ca/An...abc&date=False I wonder if this means that Nolan has already asked her. I think this would be a case of perfect casting. She's as big a name as you can get, she has a sultry, cat-like look and vibe to her, and she already has experience in action movies with the Tomb Raider franchise. To me she just seems perfect for the role. Can't you just picture her looking all sexy and naughty in the Catwoman outfit? Because I sure as Hell can. Hope this happens.

I am so bummed, the movie is being released on the 21st of August here in Germany but the only theater showing movies in the original version has shut down, so I'm stuck with either watching the movie dubbed in german or waiting until it's released on DVD. And, since I saw the first dubbed trailer yesterday and threw up a little in my mouth after hearing the translation of "why so serious?".... I'll wait for the DVD :-(
