It's probably my favourite Meadows/Considine vehicle after A Room For Romeo Brass. Paddy is always amazing. I rank Shane's films like this... 1. A Room For Romeo Brass 2. Dead Man's Shoes 3. This Is England 4. Twentyfourseven 5. Once Upon a Time in the Midlands I'm really looking forward to Somers Town...it's garnering very positive buzz right now. And it's a 'coming of age' tale...my favourite!

I think the movie is flawed in some areas but I love it. The acting is great and the dialogue is awesome, escpecially with Richard's (Paddy Considine)character. The scene towards the end with "the super duper fucken dose" is incredible, the colors, music and dreamlike direction etc. The alternate ending is interesting too, it shows a little more dept and reason behind Richard's actions as well as some personal baggage with his Bro. I definitely recommend. 7/10

loved it,its both paddy's and shane meadows second best movies, the superb room for romeo brass takes that honour. paddy though should now be getting the bigger parts in major movies he appeared in the last bourne film and the cinderella man but he is better than the small parts he played. he is also well worth checking out in, in america .

Great movie. At the start I couldn't understand a thing they were saying but once you get used to the accents, it really is an effective film.

I finished this film last night. I would not call it genius, but it is very good . . . nice and short, to the point with some nifty editing. The guy was a bad ass without being over the top cheesy . . . that is refreshing. I actually felt bad for some of the villains . . .

This film is seriously good. Paddy is Bad Ass. I can't believe he was so funny in Hot Fuzz and even before that he was one of the most coldest son of a guns in British cinema. Shane Meadows rocks. This is England was also great.

One of the best films by one of the best directors using one of the best actors in recent British cinema. The intensity and the compassion and the heartbreak of Paddy Considine's revenge is stunning - and he must surely be considered a serious replacement for Tim Roth, Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis when they move into the autumn years of their careers. One thing: I don't know why some people don't consider this a horror movie. It has all the elements of a horror, yet I always find it in the thriller section. Despite the fact that I know this is just a film, when I watched it for the first time I actually felt...extremely anxious for the unsuspecting nimrods Richard (Considine's character) was stalking. I mean, they deserved it - undoubtedly - but it was one of the few times when a film has made me say out loud, 'Fuck, I am glad that's not me'. 9/10 - And check out 'A Room for Romeo Brass'. Considine is a genius.

I think I have seen this film before. Is this the one where his handicapped brother is killed and he is out to seek revenge? If so, then hell yes this is a kick ass film! I especially liked the part where he drugs the bad guys and fucks with them.

I thought it was great, despite the seriously unpleasant images and dialogue. The performances are really good (after comparing this with his performance in Hot Fuzz, I have decided Paddy Considine rocks!), there is some good dialogue (albeit unpleasant) and the movie is actually rather thought provoking - 'should we take revenge and to what extent?', 'are we as bad as the baddies for resorting to their actions?', 'what is God's take on revenge', etc. I wasn't totally satisfied or impressed with the ending, but still, a good watch. 8/10

I am watching this today, started it on my lunch hour, on my laptop. It was a financial flop but got VERY high praise by critics. Anybody else see it, what did you think?
