They are both extremely similar films, both have to do with the dreamwold and characters who jump in and out of their dreams. Only thing is that Nightmare on Elmstreet took the whole theme more into horror territory, and Dreamscape was more of a fantasy adventure film with hints of horror here and there. The story is about this organization which is doing some very interesting research on dreams. Theyve actually found a way in which a psychich can enter your dream and help you defeat your fears. Interesting concept in deed, and gets more interesting when the one having the extreme nightmares is the president of the united states of america. You see, the president cant take his nightmares of nuclear apocalipse any longer so he seeks the aid of our scientist friends. Problem is, theres an evil psychic who wants to abuse his power and assasinate the president! In comes Dennis ... | | Read Entire Entry |

Isola del tesoro, L / Space Island / Treasure Island in Outer Space Basically we're talking Treasure Island here but a sci-fi version, an 8 hour long mini series i believe. I recall renting it once when i was a kid, totally suckered in by the cover of the VHS wich was a holographic image of the poster. I also recall catching it on TV once or twice and im pretty sure all the versions shown here have been some sort of edited versions since i sure as hell dont remember it lasting for 8 hours. | | Static Link |

Basically its one dude alone in the world...suddenly he meets up with two or three more people, but for the most part its this one dude trying not to go insane. Feels like I am Legend too. But without the creatures. Basically its humans vs. humans. Its like this one guy is alone in the world and then everything is disrupted when he meets these new people, a girl, a guy, and the battle for who gets to keep her. While at the same time they try to find out what caused the dissapearance of the worlds population. Not bad, but not great either. | | Static Link |

Popeye - Robin Williams first film role, he used to be in Mork and Mindy before he did this one. It has Shelly Duval as Olive Oil. The song "I love him" was later used in PWA's Punch Drunk Love. Electric Dreams came out in 1984, just as home computers were making inroads into many households and like some other movies with the same theme, it focused on a computer which takes over a person's lifestyle. But while 1983's WarGames was a bit dark and preachy, this movie was more light-hearted. The basic story concerns Miles (Lenny van Dohlen), a nerdy but brilliant architect, who is in love with his downstairs neighbor, a cellist named Madeline (Virginia Madsen). When he buys a home computer, the machine develops a personality and calls itself Edgar, and hearing Madeline playing music one night, falls in love with her as well. This eventually leads to the computer's jealously toward Miles (or Moles, as Edgar calls him as a result of a typo) and Edgar sets out to ruin Miles' life albeit in non-lethal ways.
