I thought this was a fun movie. Not Seagal's best (yeah, I'm a fan) but certainly not his worst. 7/10

1.5/10 Not to sound like an asshole, but as if it weren't an indicator, anything starring Ja Rule is deeply flawed to boot. This man can not act and tears apart whatever good merits a film may have once possessed before signing him on the cast. This one feels like it's categorized under the "straight-to-video" genre, the act is horrid, and Steven Seagel used to do shit, now he does flaming shit. Proof: Submerged, I couldn't make it past 53 minutes. And I didn't rent it, other members of my kin did And don't go pointing the fingers, I didn't see it all so I can't judge it --- ooooo yes I can and I will. Half Past Dead = Blasphemy

ive watched Half Past Dead twice now and it remains as enjoyable as it was first time round. yeah its full of cliches and is pretty generic but as with most of Seagals films i find it to be very enjoyalbe. the performances are average, nothing more, nothing less, the same goes for the script. aside from some poor cgi theres some very well directed action scenes and pyrotechnics and the film overall looks pretty good. the soundtrack is also fitting but on the whole very forgettable a fun way to waste 90 minutes 8/10

Half Past Dead is a very bad, cliche riddled, poorly acted and generic action thriller that shows that Steven Seagal hasn't changed or gotten better and that rappers do not make for good actors or action stars. Seagal plays Sasha Postokovich a Russian FBI agent (lol right! there is not one hint at an attempt at a Russian accent) who has been sent in undercover to "New Alcatraz" (a new revampt high tech prison) to be reunited with his old friend and partner Ja Rule to get at a crime boss he is seekng revenge on. But soon the prison is taken over by an elite force lead by Morris Chestnutt in hopes of threatenng a death row inmate of giving up the location of $200 million worth of gold "bricks". There is also a plot involving capital punishent and the female judge who sentenced the inmate. Yeah i feel my brain-cells disappearing as I try and rehash this moronic over-done plot. Of course Seagal goes Under Siege style with his rapping cohorts and rather cheerful for hardened criminals and pris...

Same thing I posted in the -- THE RING thread. "I know in CURRENT MOVIE TALK 'ideal' allows new movie threads to open a week early, but the forum here is technically for Video Reviews, and to me, that means movies already out on video, not a week, or a month ahead. But I wouldn't mind a few days in advance. Say, the Sunday before movies come out on Video, at the earliest. I won't close this, but for all newly released movies on video, just a few days in advance will do. Thx guys."

This film really stunk. I was sucked into seeing it and it was one of the worst experiences in recent memory. You say you like bad acting, so I know why you enjoyed this flick. The acting is VERY corny, and the same goes for the plot. This film is only for those who crave bad wirework and bullets tearing through bodies with a low amount of blood. 5/10 for some fun action, but it is truly a forgettable flick when it comes to acting and direction.

Movie: Half Past Dead Starring: Steven Segal, Ja Rule and Morris Chestnut Director: Don Michael Paul Year: 2002 Genre: Action Rated: Rated PG-13 for pervasive action violence, language and some sexual content. Running Time: 98 Minutes Summary:The movie tells the story of a man who infiltrates a hi-tech prison to find out where a death-row inmate hid his $200 million stash of gold. Review: I'd just like to say that this movie has been bashed by everyone except me. Why? I have no clue. I like good pop-corn action flicks that have lots of violence and bad acting. So before you critisize me please this about what I just said. This movie is full of action, suspense and shitty acting. Steven Segal is an ass whooper but eats way to much Burger King. Ja Rule delivered a few laughs but was not needed for this role. Morris Chestnut is really the only character that was needed and acually kept the movie going. But all I needed was an action packed movie that I could sit down, watch and enjoy. It is not one of my favour...
