Anyway, finally saw it. I loved it. Only fans of the series will like it. Strangers or automatic haters? No way. Too much mythos and backstory, and a style of quirky dramedy storytelling that the average television viewer will not understand. SatC, the show, was not realistic at all visually. However, many of the emotions, relationships and ordeals they went through can be quite accessible to almost anyone with a heart or open mind. The fashion stuff is just a sugar coating to something, if scratched a bit, deeper and at times dark for brief periods (you've got to catch the right episodes, many of which were in the last season strangely enough). The movie was perfect for me. I heart the series so much. The girls babble on about trivial things, but isn't that life? Then, there'd be times when things are serious and just not ... | | Read Entire Entry |

I have no idea why so many of you are wasting your time bitching about this movie and the people who like it. Personally I thought it was a 2.5 hour advertisement for hideous, over-priced clothing. Hooray for materialism! The truth is that there are fully realized relationships displayed here as well, some more than others. By saying that every fan watches it because of the fashion or to project that image on themselves is ridiculous. Some people simply care about the characters even with all their idiosyncracies and insecurities. I thought it was bloated, but the Steve/Miranda subplot was worth the price of admission. What really bugs me even more is, there are women the world over who are NOT from NYC to expect that kind of lifestyle from everyone when they visit NYC.
