In any case it would have been Spielberg whod want to put aliens on the movie, not Lucas. Spielbergs the alien freak.

It's no better than the other three but, dammit it's another Indiana Jones movie. The first half was very nostalgic for me. Second half was a little slow but I still enjoyed it because of Ford. I'm so sick of people not buying the Fridge or Waterfalls but you'll buy the fact that Indy, Willie, and Short Round jump out of a plane with nothing but a life raft, fall a couple hundred feet, land on a snowy mountain, then fall another hundred feet into a raging river. Just don't get it. It's just Indy and I buy it! And I'll buy it again!

Very bad sequel....wasn't needed and def outdated. I had high hopes at one point but after watching a half assed effort I realized Spielberg and Lucas need some new inspiration. 6/10

The thing that I really couldn't get into was the dysfunctional family aspect of some scenes. The bickering between Karen Allen, Shia and Ford grew tiresome within seconds and had a real sitcom feel to it. Also, the scene where Ford is sinking in sand but starts lecturing to Shia was such sitcom bullshit. And I also disliked that the trio was indestructible. Falling down huge waterfalls, driving on the side of cliffs, it was all done with such winky nonchalance. The movie was actually quite boring because I never believed the characters were in danger. I expected a cheesy ending because it is a Spielberg movie, but it didn't make it any less disappointing to watch. 4/10

Well, finally I have seen Indy 4. My expectations were a bit lowered when reading the initial reviews and I must say this movie impressed me. Some aspects were very well done, especially the opening in the warehouse, the motorcycle chase, the nuclear blast and the ant attack in the jungle. What botters me the most about this movie is that it the whole crystal skull theme is a bit 'out there'. If they had chosen a true historical artifact, like Raiders or Last Crusade it would have more impact. Now it feels on par with Temple of Doom, with those sacred stones. Overall, this movie has the same feeling as Temple of Doom, it is a good flick but not in the league of Raiders or Last Crusade. Cate Blanchett was not very intimidating, I didn't believe in the whole Marion-Mutt thing and Marion could have been tossed aside. Shia was pretty good in his role, but the 'vine-scene'....WTF!!! Overall, it has some great moments and scenery. The crystal skull theme is nice, bit needed some more background. There was not a re...

3 out of 4 stars, and the fourth best of the 4 for me, personally...but a damn fun ride, great effects (what the frick is everyone complaining about RE the vines/monkeys, it looked GREAT! I honestly think the majority of 'bitchers' out there complain just to look/feel 'superior' to someone...ANYONE...at all, I swear to GOD!... In order, heres how I rate the 4 films... 1. Raiders (best) 2. Last Crusade 3. Temple of Doom 4. Crystal Skulls All damn entertaining and well made films...thanks Lucas, Ford and Spielberg! Now, can we PLEASE get to work on ANOTHER 'Indy' before Harrison gets too old for them?... K

Indy, Indy...where art thou, Indy? While not a complete waste of money, it could've been done much better. It has further instilled my hatred for George Lucas and his moneygrubbing goons. Iron Man was far more enjoyable in my eyes. 7/10

Exactly, and by the way Krueger it actually fitted the context of the storyline. It was pretty funny, I also love Marion in the script. The dialogue between the two is superb, I wonder if Karen Allen would have actually been able to pull it off though

I saw a couple of weeks ago but I'm only getting around now to putting up my voice. I liked it a lot. I can understand the hate but I for some reason or another just can't seem to hate it. Yeah, The Vine swinging and Fridge scenes were pretty ridiculous and the final 1/5th of the movie gets pretty hectic but overall it was another fun Indy ride as always for me at least. Most of the cast were pretty great or good overall except that Ray Winstone was essentially wasted in here. While I'd see it as the 4th best Indy flick, I still rate it pretty highly among and above the other movies this summer and past summers as well. I'll give it 8.5/10 And by the way, while many are condenming this movie as not deserving to gain so much $$$ as it has...It could be MUCH worse...Consider the fact Epic Movie and Meet The Spartans made around $85 Million EACH worldwide *shudders*

I enjoyed it. Iys not as good as the other three. But its one of the better action/adventure films I saw in the last 10 years. It has some really cool stuff here and some drab stuff there. So it was good not great. 2.5/4 stars. Hopefully this is it though. I wouldnt pay to see someone else take the over in the Indy role.

I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would; I got chills seeing the "lost ark" and Karen Allen return as Marion. I loved the nods to the original (i.e. Indy's incredible fear of snakes) The action scenes were fun and the actual kingdom looked amazing. Not the best in the series but a fun installment nonetheless. 8/10

This was a fucking awesome movie. This movie was Indiana Jones from start to finish, and made me feel just like a little kid again. Sent shivers down my spine. I hope Spielberg, Lucas and Harrison Ford decide to do another because I'm completely on board after watching this movie. Truly a fun time at the movies. 9/10

I don't think it's a case of preference, if the average movie-goer hasn't seen either film I would say Indy has more pulling power because of the fact that it's an Indiana Jones movie and people will still flock to see it despite the reviews. Some people think it's a piece of shit but you can't deny that it still has people curious to go see it anyway and make up their own mind. I knew it would end up more profitable than Iron Man and even if it was fantastic I'm not sure it would have made any real difference to the money it has made. Any Indy fan worth their salt is highly unlikely to pass up the chance to see it on the big screen because of a few bad reviews

I really dug this flick! yeah it was over the top and spielberg killed the ending with his love for Aliens, but it was awesome. The warehouse scene was brilliant, as was the whole scene through the jungle untill the ants and onwards! The bar fight scene was halarious and i thought shia did a great job. And harrison ford was absolutley brilliant!! plus, NEIL FLYNN! ALAN DALE! GENIUS! The ending was highly ridiculous and it did bore me. But overall a great movie!

Damn, no longer there. I wonder if their conversation went something like this - Frank - Ok George, we did it. God knows how much sleep I lost over this thing but we finally have something. Steven loves it, Harrison loves it. It's great, it gives them everything they want to see. Subtle little nods to the previous films, Indy and Marion bickering constantly for half the movie, we got Sallah back, great action sequences, real stunts keeping the CGI to a minimum, the alien storyline you wanted, Indy gets double crossed again, they're gonna love it George...it's like he's never been away George - Sucks!! Let's give him a kid he doesn't know he has. Let's put the focus ON him ALL the time!! There's a bit in the jungle right? You know what would be funny?.......Wow, I'm a fucking genius!!......forget stunts, I want CGI EVERYTHING!!!....I want gophers, CGI gophers!!!!....I'm so awesome.....Did I mention his kid? Just glancing at the Darabont script, it looks like it's pretty much has a similar storyline (yes...even the alien aspect), so those unhappy with that particular part of the story would be S.O.L even with the Darabont script.

My brother-in-law just finished eight weeks of Navy basic training (or whatever they call it) and this is the movie he wanted to see this weekend. I like the first three, but none is anywhere near my favorite movie of all-time or anything like that. I haven't seen one in its entirety in many years. However, I remember them being a lot more entertaining than this one. The whole thing felt so by-the-numbers to me, like this is the movie the talent in front of and behind the camera can pull off when they're not even trying. And it never felt like they were really trying all that hard. Ford and Shia don't have any chemistry together. I never believed that the latter was the son of the former. Winstone is a great actor but he's dull in a thankless role. Blanchett is OK but it's far from her best work and the character is not a memorable villain. Allen is not a very good actress. There are some entertaining moments. The first scene of Indy & son in Peru is cool, the car chase against the cliff is nifty, and I ...

...it had it's moments for old Rusty. Overall, I think they really should have passed. Forget about "suspending disbelief", most of the new characters seemed to be "forced" into the story. Cate Blanchett seemed wasted to me (what did they really have her do?) and John Hurt? If you saw the movie, you know where I'm going with this in how his character was played through most of the friggin' movie. Come on. It's John Hurt for fuck's sake! Not a big Shia fan, but he was likeable in this role and it's nice to see Karen Allen again. This wasn't a movie worthy of the first three. Action sequences were pretty good, but it just felt (to me) nothing like the archaeological adventure flicks as the previous three. Just the way I saw it.

That Tarzan yell will be included in the extended version . I really thought he was going to rip his pants so we can see him in an impromptu loincloth . I'm sure they debated about that idea , but decided against it . I didn't think it was a dismal failure , it is entertaining , but it's one of those situations , if i never saw it , i know now i wouldn't have missed anything , it's a pretty standard action film with the Indy name attached , just pretty much all that separates it from other films in this vein . The only reason this won't be given the MST treatment anytime soon is because the rights to the images will be cost prohibitive , other than that , it's ripe for that type of ridicule . It is odd though , i thought i would be going bonkers over this new Indy , but i keep on forgetting about it until i see the thread on Joblo , that's how effective it was . It's IINO ( Indy in name only ) .

I liked this movie a lot. It was better than I thought it would be - I was expecting a dismal failure but it wasn't. I went in with low expectations and came out happily surprised. Right off the bat I'll say that image of Indy walking up the hill seeing the nuclear blast was gorgeous and it's going to be one of the most awesome images we'll get to see this year. It was almost like looking at a painting...it was beautiful. It was also a nice representation of Indy, who represents the past, in the shadow of the future - which is the nuclear bomb (technology, etc...). The action was over the top but that's not surprising considering the nature of these movies. Like I said in the rant thread about this movie, it's not like these movies are meant to be super-realistic anyways. Old serials were full of outrageous moments as well...most action films are loaded with them. The acting was great all around. The humor was good...I loved how the film played with Indy's age and the changing world. I got a kick out of hear...

*********SPOILERS*********** Seeing it finally I have to agree with most of the reviews here. The movie was kinda disappointing. The good : - The opening sequence in the warehouse was very well executed, this is how the rest of the movie should have been. During the Hanger 51 scene, the Ark of the Covenant can be seen briefly inside a broken crate which was cool for the fans. - Harrison Ford still kicks ass at the age of 65, still has that charisma we all love. - The killer ants scene was amazing, those little critters looked very convincing, so did the atomic bomb testing. And now for the bad : - I didn’t care jack shit about the characters in this movie. It looked like the whole cast had too much fun on the set and they didn’t put any effort in their acting. - Cate Blanchett has to be the least menacing villain ever. I wasn’t afraid of her at all, just the opposite, I still wanted to f*ck her like that kid did in that movie Notes on a Scandal. - They could have replaced Ray Winstone with another bush hitti...
