As I said, there are any number of ridiculous "fantasy" villians in the Spider-Man world which they could've included in the movies. However, there are characters which will work in a comic which stretch the bounds of credibility and suspension of disbelief too far when extrapolated to a movie. Especially when your established movie in the franchise makes little concession for that kind of fantasy outside of applicable science-fiction. Had Spider-Man 3 featured a dragon called Fin Fang Foom, I would be right there with all the people right now who hate it so as it is.
