Anyway, me and my GF are pretty well matched also, she really enjoyed the Matrix movies and the Star Wars ones. But if there's something she doesn't want to watch, like Beowulf and I am Legend, then me and one of my buddies go to watch it. It's that exact same story on his end as well, I'm his "movie date" when his wife doesn't want to see the movies we want to. So it works out well. | | Static Link |

When we saw a trailer for SATC, my girlfriend leaned over and said "You don't have to take me to see that." Now, Indy, WallE, Dark Knight...we're both on the same page regarding those movies. Not sure if she's interested in seeing Iron Man, but if not, that's what drunken former roommates are for. | | Static Link |

Forum: Film Hobbit | | My wife knows my movie tastes and hers don't really match, so hopefully she'll know better than to try and drag me to any of the crap she wants to see. The issues will only come up if we actually get to go to the movies together...usually one of us stays home with the Tater Tot so the other can enjoy a movie they REALLY want to see. For the record, I have no interest in Sex and the City or Mama Mia or Made of Honor. | | Static Link |

Forum: Film Hobbit | | Well both my girlfriend and myself are definitely wanting to see Iron Man, Batman, WALL:E and Indiana Jones. so there is going to be no dragging involved there at all. Unless its to the Ben and Jerry's stand. SatC on the otherhand.... I dunno. A couple of the guys from college seem to watch it quite a bit, but i know nothing about it and am fearing a hormonal chick-flick. Although i could have the film all wrong. | | Static Link |

The Missus is a fan (and yes, so am I) so we're seeing it. We'll pass on Made of Honor at least. Neither are a McDreamy fan. And Mama Mia! is something I also dread, if only because the missus will want to see it, and I can't resist seeing any musical. Oh, and lastly, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Just because I want to punch Lucas repeatedly and he then keeps asking for more. Star Wars fans need to wear wifebeater shirts whenever they see a another of George's schlurps. I'm surprised it wasn't first. My s/o and I are pretty well matched, although she couldn't stand Rambo (but liked Rocky Balboa). I'm looking forward to MM but still wary about Meryll Streep in the lead, and my s/o can't stand SITC which would have been my first choice o/w. My biggest problem is hearing a lot of positive buzz about a movie I feel sure is gonna be a bore or a stinker, but feel the need to see for myself...or contrariwise. I guess the first one that springs to mind that I might still have to see is Get Smart. What I've seen of the original is stupid, but the trailer is funny in places. I doubt they can sustain that without making it Stupid II, however. | | Static Link |

Forum: Film Hobbit | | Do you have a significant other or a friend who you know will ask you to see a movie and you are dreading it? Maybe you can tell a friend "hell no" but it's harder to tell your s/o no after you drag them to see movies like Rocky Balboa and 300 last year. I am going to see Iron Man this weekend and plenty of other testosterone movies. I fear when she says... Honey can we go see Sex and the City? GAHHHH. I can't say no. LOL I think i'll dodge the "Made of Honor" because that sounds like something Bethany and my mom will go see. I have no illusions of avoiding SATC though. UGH. | | Static Link |
