I have three shelves. The first one on the left is basically..
(Video Games)(Two Disc with slipcover)
(Two Disc with slipcover) (Steelbook)
(Steelbook)(DVD Boxes without slipcover)(Criterions)
(T.V Shows)(Franchise collections)
(Large DVD Boxes for single movies)(Directors collections) Then on the 2nd one
(Snapper Cases)(Two Discs with slipcovers continued)
(Again, continued)(One Disc with slipcover)
(Two Discs without slipcovers)(One disc without slipcovers)
Repeat Then the third shelf is the remains of one disc without slipcovers. All categories are in alphabetical order.

Espicially Clerks 1 and 2 and Jay and Bob strikeback which are the most related to each other. Do you have Mean Streets, Goodfellas and Casino together?

Mine are alphabetical, however I do not have enough shelf space, so there are some random ones sorted out in other places. Kinda confusing. When I get a nice shelf unit though they'll be alphabetical, and if (when) I get more steelbooks, they might get their own spotlight too - I only have four right now.

I currently have series with spine numbers separated in order of the spine number (i.e. Criterion Collection, Masters of Cinema, Dragon Dynasty and Fox Film Noir). Then I have the rest separated alphabetically within genres.

My problem is that Im never satisfied with anyway I do my organizing -- I put directors together, but then I realize I should have Best Pictures together or classic movies together or my steelbooks together -- so I've kept my Scorsese, Tarantino, LOTR and other series together and the others are sorta random

I have most of my box sets together. More than 3/4 of my dvds are in a random placing. And the rest are organised. I have way too many movies. 1600 + box sets. Roughly 2000 dvds. So I couldn't really be stuffed putting them in any order. Although, at times, I can't find shit. I wonder why?

Alphabetical. I did it one day when I was bored to death, now I just keep it that away. Easier to find certain ones.

By category? Alphabetical? Or if you are like me you just have them randomly put on shelves. Since I am so bored I might put them all in alphhabetical order. Today I had the hardest time finding a certain DVD cause they were all randomly put together.
