FRANTIC (8.5/10) is a classy thriller that oozes Polanski trademarks. Aside from being one of Harrison Fords finest thespian moments this film is also well shot, exceptionally restrained and enthralling. The fish out of water angle is only one of many issues addressed in this inventive thriller. Taking it's time, building up subtle tension then before you know it-the viewer is FRANTIC. One of Polanski's best and a quality thriller that stands tall alongside some of the best in the genre.

Review: This movie is a great thriller. Jennifer Lopez did not act very well but that didn't stop me from liking it. It had lots of fighting and had a cool ending fight sequence is the house!!! It was a fun Pop Corn thriller which I enjoyed and recommend to most people I know. If you go to your local video store and they don't have a copy of Minority Report or something good like that, then give this one a chance. 8/10

Captivity - 7/10 Did I see the same version as everyone else? Because this movie was one hell of a good time! It's not great by any means, but it delivers exactly what I wanted it to, entertainment. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I just don't see why SO many people don't like it. And lets get one thing straight, this is a kidnap thriller, not torture porn. There are really only two scenes of bloody torture, one in which it doesn't even involve wounding the victim, and the other is just a pulled tooth. The rest of the action is stabbings, gunshot wounds, some claustrophobic traps and a blown up dog (nice!). It is simply a kidnap thriller, nothing more, nothing less. The acting is pretty solid, and there were no performances that upset me in any way. The directing was OK, but after all the editing this movie had to go through, I can see why it wasn't as good as it could have been. Overall, a fun, intense, suspensful, well acted and entertaining thriller that although is not in the same genre catego...

Antitrust 7/10 Antitrust is a thriller aimed at the teenage audience. I found it to be quite entertaining. The movie hooked me in to its story and characters. It made you also think. Ryan Phillipe may be a pretty boy but he sure convinced me he could act. Rachel Leigh Cook was hot in this movie. Tim Robbins looks like Bill Gates. I'm not sure if this character was supposed to be a spoof of Bill Gates. Antitrust is a good thriller that will hook you in.

TRAPPED RATING: 7/10 Director: Luis Mandoki Starring: Kevin Bacon, Courtney Love and Charlize Theron Genre: Thriller Year: 2002 This movie was a huge surprise for me.When I saw the poster and the trailer I said to myself: This is going to be the same old thriller with some known actors in it. But this movie was very enterteining, had some very decent acting and I did care for Charlize and her daughter. The "bad guys", Courtney Lover(Hehe) and Kevin Bacon were both great.Mr. Bacon and eggs is always enjoyable and Courtney looks pretty here. The rest of the cast(Townsend, Fanning, etc.) was also good. This movie had some really cool tense moments, and a killer airplane on the highway scene, I loved that part.It has ir flaws, but what else do you want from this movie?.It has action, good thrills, great acting and itīs very enterteining. Trapped was a good movie.I had fun watching it.A really good thriller. Sad Man(2003)

Another one of those "only one thumb up in the icon", dilemnas. Damn. This is a good movie. Great direction (Nolan), and really great performances. Hell, this movie is PACINO. That's what it's all about, Al. Al fuels this great, taut, exciting, and provacitive thriller. He's chasing ol' Robin Williams around. Williams also does a great job as the bad-guy. Christopher Nolan continues the streak. Although this movie is a taaaaaaaaad slow for a thriller, it still packs a thrilling punch. MANIAC: 8/10

I liked this movie a lot. It's very cool with a lot of neat little twists and is just a slick and entertaining ride with yet another rock solid performance from the always reliable Denzel Washington and solid support from Paula Patton and Jim Caviezel. It has a lot in common with the just released sci-fi thriller Next, but Deja Vu is a much more satisfying and overall much better movie. And I'm SO glad that Tony Scott has WISELY chosen to dial down his "stylistic" antics. If this was anything like Man on Fire, it probably would have ruined an otherwise very cool thriller. 7/10

Angel Eyes 4/10... Angel Eyes is a horrible thriller/romance that should have stayed a thriller. It had a lot of potential with Jennifer Lopez who I have liked in the past(The Cell, Out of Sight) and Jim Caviesel who was very good in Frequency. What starts out a s a cool premise and an interesting thriller turns into a sappy and unbelievable romance story. They both seemed out of place and there was no chemistry. Most of the second part of the film is them arguing with each other, and J.Lo's character having issues with her family. It was just boring unentertaining and by that time I lost interest. One of the worst I've seen this year.

The Others
10/10 It is good to see a thriller that doesn't have to use a high budget, or grotesque scenes, or cliche's to scare you. The Others was brilliant. This is a very Hitchcokian thriller that creates suspense by using the audiences mind, rather than having tings pop out at you. Every thing about this movie is great it is almost minimalist, in it's presentation, less is more in this case. Nicole Kidman is quickly establishing herself as a top leading lady with two outstanding performances, first in Moulin Rouge and now in the Others. Her performance was outstanding, but so was the performances of the little kids. This movie is about as perfect as you can get and it cost very little to make. Hollywood should start taking notes.

an average thriller, and actually predictable. I knew - on the basis of the setting of the film and my own experience living in eastern europe - who were the "bad guys" unfortunately it's common to find idiots like "them" - but hey, this movie is sort of like a social commentary on exactly this topic. (im not revealing a lot here, so it's okay for those who haven't seen this to go "wtf is he talking about") 5/10 - apart from some tense scenes, this was just average thriller to me.

Magic (1978) * * * (out of * * * * ) 7 out of 10 Grade: B Anthony Hopkins plays a ventriloquist with a split personality. When his agent gets him a tv offer but doesn't want to have to go through a medical exam he runs off and stays at a closed hotel but gets in because he offers a lot of money and knew the owner played by Anne Margret who is a girl he knew in High School and had a crush on. A solid, absorbing thriller. Not for the impatient though. The movie moves at a slow deliberate pace. Doesn't have much of a payoff either. But Hopkins is excellent, as usual and the movie is a mostly effective little drama/thriller. Has anyone else seen this?

A decent mystery thriller starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams. The best thing about this movie is the setting, set in a small town in Alaska where for many months it doesn't get dark. Very interesting IMO. An intelligent thriller with the madman and the detective playing a cat and mouse game. A few tense scenes, especially the chilling fog scene. Robin Williams is extremely creepy ( A great actor IMO) glad to see him expanding his acting talents beyond comedy........perfect in this role. 7/10

For a 1987 movie, this thriller is "cutting-edge" - still fresh today........
And the lead actors are superb. I am not a huge fan of Glenn Close but she is perfect as the scorned woman. She is very very foxy and oozes sex appeal in this film (unlike her other roles since) - she is fabulous and by far the star of the film. I have to say I consider those sex scenes as the most erotic in movie history - I still find them compelling, and find myself totally allured by Close. The ending is the only drawback in what was otherwise a great film. A limp and cliched ending................. but still a real shock horror thriller. Phew!!

This is a terrific, underrated thriller. Branagh who often courts Shakespearan material channels Hitchcock in this moody, involving thriller. Emma Thompson plays a woman experiencing emotional distress. Branagh tries to help her. Before they know what is happening they are caught up in a complicated dilema of past and present lives, guilt and remorse. Dead Again is a complicated, well written thriller. It gets its effects not just through the scare you moments but via the way the script so aptly defines both the people and the situation. Thompson is good but Branagh gives the film's best performance as two very different characters. Andy Garcia and Robin Williams give terrific supporting roles. 8/10

A brilliant and very stylish european thriller.Without question one of Orson Welles best films, and that's saying a lot.Ingenious plot is chock full of suspense and intrigue with great locale shooting and authentic acting. The music is handled by a particular instrument that has its own sound. It adds a kind of greek and slavic gypsy feel to the going's on.The use of shadow's and back alley lightening is nothing short of superb. This movie gets better with age and is timeless in my estimation. Not for all tastes, being that it has certain feel-- very european and cloak and dagger.Shot in Vienna, and beautifully done at that it represents the best in film suspense and plot unravelling, bar none. This is a truly one of a kind movie, that develops and increases in intensity and character development throughout. The way a good spy thriller should. This is THE most UNpretentious of all spy thrillers. Not a fake frame in it's entirety. But,the storyline is based on chicanery and deception. It's one thing to look and act false,qu...

When I saw the preview to this movie, I already wanted to watch it. I knew that this wasn't gonna be your typical slasher flick. Don't get me wrong, there was enough gore to satisfy this schmoe, but not too much where it just gets ridiculous. After viewing this movie, I categorized it. Not in the thriller or horror category, but in the mind-fuck category. This movie was brilliant. The development of each character and how each one ended up in that flea bag motel was well done. You get to know their past, not too much, but enough to get a sense and feeling of that character. The setting of the movie was also perfect. Where better then in the middle of the desert in the middle of a huge thunderstorm completely cut off from civilization. It certainly set the mood for a creepy, dark, thriller. I'm also a big fan of John (the underrated actor) Cusack, and Ray (Go see Narc) Liotta. Who both performed their roles in this movie very well. This is one of those movies where I don't wanna talk too much about it because...

RENDITION, a ripped-from-the-headlines tale of the politics of terrorism, wants to be (in no particular order) a thriller, an expose, a sermon, and a thought-provoking inquiry. Thus, a shallow moviegoer like me, wanting mainly the entertaining thriller, will understandably feel stretched thin ...and, e.g., may resent when Plot seems bent by Principle. Still, this is a nice production, to be sure. Meryl Streep's wicked witch is convincing (duh)... and even if the remaining (and illustrious) American leads go slightly cardboard, the foreign leads make up for it. Meanwhile, it's worth noting that the thriller that *is* here does embody a quite clever metaphor, good for later appreciation. RENDITION's a mixed result by my - and by what I'm guessing are its own - standards ...but it's still watchable. Recommended. -- - - - - - - - - YOUR taste at work... http://www.moviepig.com

I'll start by saying that I love the original Stepford Wives film which was a sort of a thriller, which is why I was pretty much disappointed with this current remake. I knew going in that it had some dark comedy in it, but most of the film WAS dark comedy. I think the film would have been so much more effective and interesting if they had made it a horror/thriller type. Nicole Kidman was fine, but I just don't like her in any comedy roles. Loved Bette Midler, she's just great, and Mathew Broderick's performance was mediocre. I'm not a fan of dark comedies, so I definitely wasn't impressed. It's an ok summer movie. 6.5/10

Hardly the scariest movie ever. If there were only two horror movies made and one was the RING it wouldnt stand a chance of being the scariest movie. Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein would be scarier. Was Ring a bad movie? No. Was it scary? No. Anyone who has seen TCM, the Exorcist, Halloween know that the Ring does not compare. It is a thriller that acts like a horror. Its not. Perhaps people who see Buffy, 7th heaven and Maid in Manhattan went and saw the RING and thought it was scary. But these are people who dont know much about horror. What is to be scared of? A little girl who is in the movie for 3 minutes? Or a videotape? Oooh, I'm chilled. It was a good thriller. Good thinker of a movie even but, Scary? Not for a minute. Unless you count the "shock" stuff like the jump out scenes, or the loud ringing phone. Wow, those are things that get panned in every slasher film as being cheap, manipulative, cliche scares. But you put them in the RING and people act like it is a classic. Every horr...
