From Harry Potter to Ya-Ya Sisterhood. But I am amazed that someone like Peter Jackson would make Lord of the Rings. After its been for a long time I'm finally happy that someone picked a good novel to turn into a movie Premise: Gandalf makes a visit to Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo has decided to give the ring to Frodo. Gandalf tells Frodo that the ring must be destroyed before Sauron uses it for evil. On Frodo's journey he is accompanied by his servant Sam Gangee, his two friends Merry and Pippin, the ranger Aragorn, and of course Gandalf. Now they must journey to Mount Doom to destroy the ring. Lord of the Rings is a perfect adaption of the novel. I read the novel in 6th grade and found to be fascinating. The scenery is beautiful. Elijah Woods really does a good job of being Frodo. Ian Mckellen gives a legendary performance. I liked Orlando Bloom as Legolas. The special effects were also amazing. I'm going to see the ... | | Read Entire Entry |

I found the only movie in the series that lived up to the hype was Fellowship (9/10), and I still don't consider it the best film of all time. The other 2 are way too long. Quote: Originally Posted by Tayzlor Pulp Fiction

Espescially the moral of the story and the symbolism, which the American version did not have. Also Sadako's motive was a lot better. This one was slower, but much more powerful. I've seen all the Ring movies and here they are with my rating: Ringu(8/10) Rasen [aka Ring: Spiral] (9/10) THAT WAS THE BEST! The Ring 2 (6.5/10) The Ring 0: Birthday (4/10) stupid one The Ring Virus [Korean Remake] (7/10) The Ring [American Remake] (7/10) | | Static Link |

| Posted by: CreeperBEATNGU at October 15, 2006, 6:32 pm | | Topic: Box Office numbers Forum: JoBlo | | The Ring Two opened big because The Ring was a movie made by its legs rather than its opening, wasn't really case with The Grudge. If The Ring had a huge opener than The Ring Two's most likely would've been much smaller by comparison. As I said, this type of horror has been dwindling anyway, and the popularity of TCM03 isn't what it was when it came out, hence the prequel was very likely to drop off. SAW II was much bigger than SAW, it has way more steam going into SAW III than TCM: TB or The Grudge II did. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: FT13TH Addict at January 25, 2003, 10:31 am | | Topic: Reviews: The Ring Forum: JoBlo | | Man, I can't even remembered the last time I was really psyched up about a horror movie. I think the last movies like The Exorcist, Shinning, and Suspiria that I have been so enthused about a film. The atmosphere and creepiness is the best that I have ever seen in a film and I think the acting by all four of the characters were top notch, even the little boy. I have seen the orginal and the little boy in that picture was a waste. This film has made me appreciate the Japanese films (horror kind) even more. On a side note, I have seen the Japanese Ring trilogy and it is the best horror film trilogy out there, period!! I have also seen The Eye which I hear is going to be remade and have Dark Water which I haven't seen, but I here a few people say that it is even more creepier than The Ring!! BTW, Dark Water is also directed by the same director of Ring. So my mark are: Ring (2002) - 9/10 Ring (Jap) - 8/10 Ring 2 - 8.5/10 Ring 0 - 7/10 The Eye - 8/10 | | Static Link |
