This movie is easily the funniest movie of the summer. I'll list some of my favourite scenes. Of course the foot wacking scene. The One where he punches the opera singer. When they guy says he's going to tie himself to a chair and burn himself with licked cigarettes. Those were some of my favourite parts but I can remember them all. Great movie, great acting, funny as hell. Overall 8/10.

I must have watched this movie very close to 100 times...It used to be my absolute favourite of all time. It's still high on my favourites, though....it really is a masterpiece: not only is it quite possibly Scorsese's best film visually, but it is an extremely profound and challenging film. There are no easy answers with the story. If you liked the movie I highly reccomend the novel by Joe Conelly...while maybe the movie isn't my top favourite anymore, the book is still my favourite book. I have to bring it with me wherever I end up living. So it's been everwhere I've been. Very sentimental. I never really understood why this wasn't appreciated more as a film. Just look at Scorsese's resume AFTER he made it: 3 films, 2 of them being nominated for best picture Oscars, one of them WINNING of course. Too bad BOTD didn't get caught up in the resurgence of Scorsese love mania. But seriously: brilliant, brilliant, fantastic, wonderful, amazing amazing film!!!!

I completely agree with Sir Dizzy, ive only started collecting Steelbooks in the last couple of months but it is the centerpeice of my collection. I have doubled up on 1 or 2 movies but these are my favourite movies and i love having the chance to buy my favourite movie in a collectors edition. But they are more of a treat than anything. I try to limit myself to 1 a month as otherwise it just becomes pointless!

There are logical explanations here for why 300 took favourite movie. The most obvious one is that it was the most popular movie out of the bunch since it was the highest grossing movie and has been out on DVD longer than the other four. Notch picked up on the second one which is that the site is visited/populated by the same people that 300 was targeted towards. It's likely that No Country and Blood split the vote between each other but a lot of people saw the former more than the latter (but there's still enough people to make an impact though). Can I just suggest that people stop arguing over the 'favourite/best' thing? It's just a really petty issue, and the two terms go hand in hand with each other a lot. Someone brought up the terms quality and preference. Well, wouldn't you prefer what has the best quality? I think that There Will Be Blood is the best movie of the year, and it's also my favourite. I think we should just leave it at the two terms being separate but complimentary to each other. I'm stil...

SCREAM ~ 10/10 My favourite horror movie of all time and one of my favourite movies of all time. Scream scared the shit out of me when I saw it in theaters, I was just a little boy. I loved it so much that after it got released on video I bought a copy and watched it over and over. The same happened with the sequels, I own them all and love to watch them now and then. But the sequels aren't as good as this one. The acting, the script, the gore, the twists, the kills, everything rocks!

What are your favourite and least favourite moments of CGI in movies? The moments that you went "Holy ****ing shit that was amazing!?!" or the moments that you went "Holy ****ing shit how the hell are we supposed to think that piece of shit effect was real!?!" I think my favourite moments are probably mostly from Lord of the Rings. Gollum being completely CG was huge for me. Also the scale they pulled off with it. Star Wars Episode 3, as much as I hate a lot of it, and as much as I know those effects will probably looks like absolute shit to us in a few years, that opening sequence fight was spectacular to watch. As for least favourite, well I Am Legend did a pretty god damned awful job. Especially, as Josh pointed out in his article, the CG deer (). Also, a l;ot of the CGI in The Matrix sequels was shitty as hell. Like the CG version of Keanu Reeves that they were bragging about *shudder* all I could think about while watching that was "who the **** do they think they're kidding?" The sharks in Deep Blue Se...

For a long time I was not only not excited about this movie but I didn't really want it to be made. I'm a HUGE Indy fan, it's my favourite trilogy, but the ending of Last Crusade wrapped it up so well I couldn't see the sense in taking it further, particularly with Ford's advancing age. That said I just watched the Comic Con footage, and had a huge geek moment when Karen Allen came out. With Ford looking good, Marion (always my favourite of the girls) back and Cate Blanchett in the mix (as the villain?) I'm actually, in spite of some remaining reservations, really getting excited.

I saw this film over the Easter weekend. I heard it was a very good film. I adored Sunset BLVD, so I was hoping this would be just as good. Well, it was just as good, and a whole lot better. When the film was over, I was in total shock. It was such a brilliant, funny, moving film. Jack Lemmon, who I have always liked, was excellent. He is climbing the charts in my favourite actors list. The dialogue in the film was spot on too. With some sharp, smart writing. Which always helps a film. The Apartment is a film in my top ten. An amazing film, and a film all movie lovers will love. Rent it now! 10/10 * 10th favourite movie of all time *

8/10 Wow, all these negative reviews and opinions... This is actually one of my favourite comedies, like, ever. Sure, it's all been done before in som way or another, but I always think it's not WHAT you do, it's HOW you do it. For example, Reservoir Dogs. The whole plot is basically taken from a fairly obscure to Western masses Hong Kong movie. But how it uses it's highly unoriginal plot is another thing all together. Same with this. Yes all the characters are cliched sterotypes, the story itself, while not a remake, is fairly familiar and the jokes have been done before in some form or another. Hell, my favourite part is the old '50s training video, and that gag has been done to death. One of the funniest movies of recent times.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? - 9/10 Brilliant. This is my third viewing of this film and I've decided to upgrade it to a 9, it is without a doubt my favourite Coen Brothers film. George Clooney gives the best performance of his career (that I've seen) and all the supporting actors do a great job too. Joel Coen's direction is superb and the use of music also works really well here. On top of all that, the film just looks beautiful; excellent art diretion and cinematography. My favourite of 2000!

Some of what I'd consider the "best" movies movies don't stand up well to re-watching. Croupier, for example, is boring now that I've seen it once. So, to be included as a favourite of mine, a movie has to be highly re-watchable. Here is my embarassingly mainstream list: Die Hard With a Vengance Braveheart The Usual Suspects 12 Monkeys LA Confidential The Matrix (forgive me) American Beauty Fight Club Minority Report Dawn of the Dead All the Pixar movies Princess Mononoke (Steamboy will almost definitely be a new favourite) Runner-ups (which suffer on re-watching): The Beach The Game Croupier Unbreakable (desperately needs a sequel) -- Tweek

Well, I personally was REALLY looking forward to this film: fantasy is one of my favourite genres and I anticipate any film that takes the risk of going into that realm. It's also one of my favourite fantasy novels so anticipation was even higher. I think that if they would have actually produced a movie on the same level as Lord of the Rings, or even something plausibly good, then positive reviews and word of mouth would have made the film a success. But what happened instead was that a few million people went to see it, and when their friends etc asked how it was, they told them not to bother. Unlike with art films, in cases like this with big event releases that lack an established franchise, a good film WILL quickly catch on, while a poor one is destined to fail (note, I'm talking about non-franchise movies, because in the case of, say, Spider-Man 3 or whatever, the movie will succeed no matter how crappy it is).
