Celebrities are as gods who make no mistakes, so we need to FLY OFF TEH HANDLE when they stop acting as gods. Because we have no better things to do, of course. | | Static Link |

Forum: JoBlo | | With all the threads about the hottest celebrities, or the hottest older celebrities, I thought, why not go the other way and talk about those actresses who were once hot but definitely have not aged gracefully... I can think of two off the top of my head: - Kim Basinger: She just looks way too old. - Melanie Griffith: Ruined by too many surgeries; Antonio Banderas is supposed to be the same age and he can still pass for being in his mid-30s. I know what most of you are going to say: that I'd still do them if I had the chance... I guess that's true, but still: anyone want to comment? | | Static Link |

For me, i got friends who smoke, and although i will never do that sort of thing, i'm not gonna judge them on it. If they realize the negative effects it is doing on them and aren't gonna do anything about it, then i'm not gonna pester them to stop, its their life. Anyways, going way off track, celebrities are probably the same for me. If i like one, but find out they smoke, i'm gonna be sorta disappointed, but wont change the fact that i enjoy their acting and personality (male wise) or think that their still a knockout beauty (female wise). | | Static Link |

Since when did running for election become "Which celebrities support your campaign". I could care less how many people from Hollywood support OBama, Clinton or Mccain. Its just a cheap way to sway votes. So say if Michael Jordan supports Obama lets be "Like Mike" and run down to the polls and cast our vote too. | | Static Link |

| Posted by: wyodebbie at April 27, 2004, 9:46 pm | | Topic: Reviews: Celebrity Forum: JoBlo | | "Celebrity" has so many celebrities in the film for only five seconds you don't really get a meaningful story for any length of time. Most of the characters are not even likeable and some are downright mean (like Leonardi DiCaprio), unlikeable are Melanie Griffith, Kenneth Braugh, Winona Ryder, Charlize Theron, and too many more to mention. The only characters you truly care about are the Judy Davis and Joe Montegna characters as they were the only ones to resemble decent human beings. And why did Allen have Kenneth Braugh looking and sounding like himself? Woody should of just let Braugh play himself instead of a bad imitation of himself. And I don't think this was the film for black and white, it was very depressing looking. The writing did not develop full blown characters but only bit parts for most of the actors. These kinds of celebrities we can definitely do without! The film a C, and the + is for the sincere acting of Davis and Montegna. | | Static Link |

Forum: JoBlo | | I think i know why some people feel heartbroken and disillusioned over certain celebrities death's , especially when they pass at a young age . Some people think they know a person because they have seen them on a big screen or on their television . They may even identify with them , begin to have fantasies that they are them , can be like them , or even have some sort of relationship with them . They identify with this person so closely , that whatever happens to that object of desire or admiration , affects them on a personal level . They see these people as somewhat immortal , fantastical , they have an exaggerated view of them , they are more than human to these fans or admirers . When someone such as ledger dies at such a young age , the reality of , not only the celebrities mortality , but their own , imposes it's will , and the fantasy world is exposed for what it is , fleeting and superficial .
