I spent some time renting and watching all these movies that influenced Quentin Tarantino. Movies like Lady Snowblood, They Call Her One Eye (aka Thriller a Cruel Picture), Vanishing Point, Dirty Marie Crazy Larry and after having seen all of them, I can clearly see what he does with his movies. He watches them all one night...then he comes up with his own version of those movies. Often times improving on them. | | Static Link |

SoM wouldn't qualify in my book, because it has a large fan base and an even larger population who at least acknowledge that it is a good musical (regardless of their personal opinions of the film or genre). So you are saying that cult movies aren't good movies? Aren't they just obscure movies with a small but rabid following? I guess it's got to be more than that since some movies aren't usually referred to as cult movies but rather 'art movies' or the like. Maybe an 'art movie' is a cult movie that is really boring. I don't agree with the above interpretation of "cult." I think that the "cult" moniker is applicable when the film has a fanbase with an obsessive and emotional attachment to a film. This can be independent of the film's critical standing or broadbased appeal. The Star Trek universe certainly has a cult following, but there are many who enjoy the TV shows and movies without being part of the cult. The Sound O... | | Read Entire Entry |

Around eleven I started going to the movies with my friends every weekend, sometimes I'd go see the same movie play both friday and saturday night.
