Some people tried to get me to watch anime. I tried, but couldn't get through it. Haven't watched anime since Pokemon in the 5th grade. White people into anime is so bizarre.... my friends from high school go to anime conventions all the time and dress up and post a lot of pictures of facebook. They are oh so odd. Sometimes they go to the mall dressed as anime characters too.... -----

| Posted by: Josh at March 17, 2008, 6:27 pm | | Topic: The Evils of Anime Forum: Film Hobbit | | Well it depends on if you consider Dragonball Z and Pokemon anime. They're popular, but people who are fans of what they consider to be the "good" anime often tell me they disavow it and don't consider it anime, because it sucks so much. On the other hand, non-DBZ anime isn't popular at all, except among a cult, niche audience. So maybe prevalent is a good way to describe it. | | Static Link |

Dragonball Z is the face of anime, and I don't think it's doing it any favors. | | Static Link |

Been wondering what the anime looked like for a while! Now I know! Looking forward to the DVD when it comes out for sure! The look, movement and characteristics in the anime are definitely standard for anime! Although, one of the Bruce Wayne designs didn't sit too well with me. He seemed a bit androgynous. | | Static Link |

Anime has lost its way (especially with trash like Naruto) but there is still a lot of good anime out there, and there's still the classics. Anime's style was influenced by Disney movies at the time, and without anime we wouldn't have the Matrix or Kill Bill. | | Static Link |

You know, I *might* be willing to give it a try, but the same thing that stops me from buying a Mac stops me: the people who love it. Sorry, but why is it that most Anime-lovers can't comprehend that there is other media out there? I've known a lot of people who are really into Anime, and for some reason they think it's the most pure form of entertainment out there. They even get their porn in an anime format for ****'s sake! | | Static Link |

When a film such as perfect blue comes and it's the only real film of it's kind, it's wonderful. Without any answers to the end, and a plot you can try to unravel for as long as you try perfect blue is a big confusing nightmare. Yet it is so excellent that it doesn't matter anymore whether you get it or not. PB is perfect as a thriller, it never lingers off, and the rape scenes, nudity, gore, and bizzare eeriness create an entierly new demension of anime. this is one of the only few great anime films ever made, I couldn't even name 10 in total, but perfect blue would still be way up there even if there were a million great anime movies. 9.8/10 | | Static Link |
