Review: "Rambo" meets "Alien"in this sci fi/action thriller. I thought the overall plot of "Predator" was great and the cast does a good job in what they are asked to do. Arnold Schwarzenneger is Major Dutch, the leader of the group of commandos and I think this performance is one of his best. Arnold still has the accent but he can't help it, he tries and I give him credit because I could buy into his character. Carl Weathers plays a CIA agent named Dillon rather well, he is assigned to work with the team of soldiers to help rescue the hostages. The deadly alien (the Predator) is played by Kevin Peter Hall, who plays the creature sent down from outerspace quite good. Originally Jean-Claude Van Damme was suppose to have this role but he quit 2 days after learning he would be an uncredited special effect, there are rumors that Van Damme did do some of the action scenes but I think that is balonie. Other cast members in this film are Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves and Elpidia Carrillo, who all give quality performances in my opinion. The final battle that occurs between Arnold and the Predator is simply epic and very entertaining. "Predator" is easily one of the best sci fi/action flicks of the last 20 years.
