Topic: Moulin Rouge (Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor) Forum: JoBlo

I was so happy that Moulin Rouge was coming out on video this week, I just couldn't wait to see it. So I rented it last night and watched the beginning of it and it sucked. So I shut it off for awhile. I was expecting to see a great film but after seeing the first 15 minutes I would have settled for an "ok" film. So, a couple of hours later I decided to turn it on again to see if it would get any better. And Thank God it did, it got A LOT better. So I must warn everyone, the beginning sucks. DO NOT SHUT THE MOVIE OFF AFTER THE FIRST 15 MINUTES, IT GET'S BETTER. I was never a big fan of musicals but I am now after seeing Buffy: The Musical and now Moulin Rouge. Moulin Rouge is an amazing movie, I was in awe the whole time. It was beautiful and magical and a wonderful time. The movie looked great and I loved the singing. The singing scenes between Satine (Nicole Kidman) and Christian (Ewan McGregor) were beautiful and enchanting. Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor give the best performances of their career. And the ending made me cry. Moulin Rouge is stunning, dazzling, amazing, and one of the best films of the year. And definately the best musical I've ever seen.
I can't recommend Moulin Rouge enough. It shouldn't be missed. I hope to see more musicals in the future. I can't wait to buy the DVD. Grade: 9/10
