I didn't like BLADE that much but I decided I'd give the sequel a try anyway. And to my surprise I actually liked it better than the first one. The action scenes are GREAT and non-stop---and although that's one of the best things about this sequel it is also one of the worst---it had TOO much action. After awhile you just get bored with the action because it doesn't quit. The movie is action packed but there's such a thing as TOO much action and BLADE 2 is the perfect example. I had a hard time deciding if I should give BLADE 2 a C+ or a B- because the action scenes are very well done, but when you think about it that's pretty much all it has to offer---ACTION, and that's just not enough. I almost feel like a C+ is too low of a grade and a B- is too high of a grade. After seeing action scene after action scene I got a little bored and kept checking to see how much was left, and was always disappointed to find out it had quite a bit more to go before it was over. BLADE 2 isn't a bad movie, you just can't have too much of a good thing because then it becomes a bad thing, and that's what happened here. I will say this though, it was definitely better than the first one. Grade: 6/10 or C+ or *** of *****
