First off, the art of translating a comic to film isn't exactly an easy one. ou have to appeal to both die hard core fans of the character and newcomers who don't read comics. Spiderman is probably the most credible contender for best super hero movie of all time. David Koepp wrote a freakin awesome adaption of the comics main storyline an ideas. My only qualm is the abscense of Gwen Stacy. As for your problem with casting, Tobey Maguire is probably as good as you can get. He IS the best "teen" actor of his generation, and if it wasn't going to be him heres a list of other canidates that were considered: Freddy Prinze Jr. Jim Carrey Leo DiCaprio I think I rest my case. And as for your whole "DIE SAM RAIMI DIE" atitude I say: Don't make me have to use my boomstick buddy, because I know I won't miss(thems fightin words ) Raimi is my favorite director and I have VERY little patience for his naysayers. He can inject more style into his movies than most irectors, and has a near-perfect track record. When I heard he was directing Spider,man I nearly peed my pants. No other director could have made this movie as damn awesome as he did. And the ending of this movie WAS pretty damn violent, in my opinion. Yes this movie is not perfect and the Goblins suit is fairly ridiculous, but I will stand by it, till the very end! Sam Raimi rules! Dave Koepp is the man! I'd have dirty sex with Kirsten Dunst if he oportunity arose(I don't think I'm alone on that last one)! Of course, as wiser schmoe than I once said:Opinions are like assholes:everybodies got'em. And dude, I can not believe you have't heard of Daredevil until you saw the preview! Hes made appearences in different spidey books on MANY different occasions. Oh well... Also if you dislike the movie that much then I'd be happy to take it off your hands, buddy PM me if you want, we'll make a deal! |
