Femme Fatale *** (out of ****) 7.5 out of 10 Grade: B+ Directed by Brian DePalma Starring Rebecca Romijn Stamos, Antonio Banderas and Peter Coyote Femme Fatale is an intriguing, suspenseful, stylish and sexy thriller from Brian DePalma. The movie is nearly undone by a late in the game plot twist at the end which made me mad, but then made up for it and redeemed itself with some other interesting developments a few minutes later. Rebecca Romijn Stamos is surprisingly good in this movie. I mean I knew she was sexy (what heterosexual male doesn't) but I wasn't sure if she could pull of such a role. She does. I mean, she's no Linda Fiorentino, but she is quite good. Antonio Banderas is also good in one of his better performances since The Mask of Zorro. He seems to do alot of these kind of sexy erotic thrillers having also done Original Sin (not so good) and Never Talk to Strangers (which I thought was pretty good and underrated). I also have to mention the exquisitely shot and dynamic opening heist scene which takes place at the Cannes Film Festival. It is pretty exciting. I was not wowed like Roger Ebert was. This is not a **** movie by any stretch of the imagination. But it is a well made and highly engrossing sexy thriller that is well worth the time and money.
