[b]FRAILTY starring:Bill Paxton,Matthew McConaughey,Powers Boothe,Matthew O’Leary Directed by:Bill Paxton R(for violence and some language) Story:A father who has two sons and has lost his wife receives a message from God that he must destroy Evil Demons to correct order in the world.Killings and horror ensues. With all of the directors Bill Paxton has worked with you’d think he would be ready to make a movies on his own.And a good one too.Well that time has come folks.Now this film has been getting massive critical acclaim,by mostly every movie geek or reviewer around.It didn’t get much of a realese,but still good critical.So before I watched this movie I was expecting hopefully a good film.Although I thought it wouldn’t be as good as every darn folk have said it would be.The end result has given me mixed feelings.As it ends the whole thing seems to stop in a way.It seemed like a gip to I.As I was hoping for some what of a twist.But truth speaking,the writers took the easy way out.And I don’t hate them for it.Hey,not everyone can be a David Lynch,or M.Night Shamaylan. As it started I thought things were going very fast.There isn’t much of a big development except for the small tip-bit at the beginning.Things seem to just pass by,with no meaning to it.Trying to get to the next scene.Some of the stuff didn’t seem to be really brought up well.It was hard to get into it,when things go by like the speed of light.I am not going to start a protest about it,I just thought things could be brought down a tad. Although,I thought the film was stylishly freaky.There is no jumping out of your seat,but Paxton’s direction brings those chills down your back.The killings are not shown,or any of the blood or gore.It is all supposed to be played into your head.Just the fact of all of these killings is very disturbing.The mood and setting is very creepy in it’s own way.The power of Paxton,I like to call it. The acting wasn’t amazing.The fact being there wasn’t a whole lot of characters that get room to act for the time being.But I must say Paxton does an amazing job brining his character alive.Who after time becomes somewhat of a pyscho-path.Maybe the fact of killing is interesting,well maybe not.But the way he brings a loving father,and caring person,mixed with a messenger from God to kill demons is just simply put great. This film though might cross the line for some people.It deals with the religious belief,and the fact that God would ask someone to kill folks in human bodies.It might strike controversy,because it is doubtful that he would ask some one to do this.Some people might see it as God asking him to kill actual people.The topic of it could be discussed out thoroughly,but I tend not to get into that kind of stuff. Alright so,Frailty was a very freaky thriller.But,a tad overrated if you ask me.I enjoyed this film a lot though.It might deserve a higher rating,but the fact that it had some flaws doesn‘t help but,I stand on my decision. ***1/2(out of 5) or (7/10)
