The Time Machine 6/10... The Time Machine is fairly entertaining and exciting adventure movie but they have missed a very good oportunity. This sort of movie has such a great set up, premise, story everything going for it. A Movie about time travel woohoo! and it doesn't hurt to have the very accomplished and enigmatic Guy pearce leading the way...he is good as a turn of the century physicist intent on building a time machine and going back in time to save his fiancee. The beginning of this movie is great with the old look and style of New York and the early premise. The time-travel scenes were awesome!! Instead of the machine whizzing through some weird tube-like space(see Bill and Ted) you know what I mean. The machine sits still and time and the enviroment changes around him. It was a really cool effect especially when he goes into the future. Where the movie loses its steam is in the future....800,000 years!! A golden oportunity missed to create an amazing world... ok I did like the idea of some sort of new evolution etc. but there was no real explanation for it and how it came to be...I wanted more of that!!! As for the Morlocks and the ending I just didn't care, because I felt it left out some details...Overall its an ok, enjoyable film that could have been a lot better...so ultimately its an excellent oportunity wasted.
