'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within' was a movie which I had been very excited about since I first heard about it. Being a fan of the games, I couldn't wait for the movie to be released. As soon as the movie started, I was extremely impressed with what I was watching on the big screen. From the opening sequences of an alien planet to the closing sequence of the Caspian Mountains, the graphics for this movie were brilliant. The CGI characters were all so realistic, the most realistic of all was Dr. Sid (voiced by Donald Sutherland). The only major disappointment with the characters were the lack of facial expressions. The score for this movie (composed by Elliot Goldenthal) really suited the style and appearance of the final product. The ending theme for this movie ('The Dream Within' by Lara Fabian) was perfect to go with the final scene. The plot of the movie was a bit confusing at first. The whole idea of Gaia was a bit difficult to understand (I thought I was faling asleep in the cinema, and this was the movie I had been anticipating for over 2 years!!). After watching the movie a few more times and watching the Special Features on the DVD, I got a better understanding. My rating for Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within: 8.5/10
