FRAILTY (2002) WOW! I expected something different from Frailty but I never thought it would be such an engrossing, creepy, and disturbing film. This is one of the most original films I've seen in quite awhile. Movies like this are few and far between and it's very unusual to see a movie that's perfect on every level. If I was asked to name a flaw Frailty had I honestly couldn't think of any. From the acting to the screenplay, it's all flawless. The acting was perfect all around. Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton both gave excellent performances. But the real surprise for me was Matthew O'Leary (Young Fenton) and Jeremy Sumpter (Young Adam), I usually can't stand kids in movies but these two were amazing and natural. Great job guys! Overall, "Frailty" is one of the best films to come out in awhile, especially for its genre. It was shocking, creepy, and very grim. I was engrossed the whole time and I never lost interest in what was going on. Add to that one hell of a twist ending and you get one of the best and most original films of the year. Frailty is an Oscar-worthy film, it's just too bad the Academy will likely snub it. I suggest you don't pass this up, give it the attention it deserves. But be warned, it's not for everyone and can be a little unsettling at times. Still, I suggest not missing it. Grade: 10/10 or A+ or ***** of *****
