After viewing GINGER SNAPS a total of four times now I'm going to have to move my grade up a notch to an 8/10. This little sucker just keeps growing on me more and more with each viewing. It required more than one viewing for me to really appreciate because the first viewing blew me away and I didn't know what to think. All I knew was I had just seen one very dark, morbid, bloody, funny, wicked, depressing, and very original horror flick. I honestly didn't know if I liked it or not because it was so different and no movie has ever made me so damn down. I felt like I was hit by a bus afterwards, it was so strange. I'm just glad I can watch it now without getting depressed. I had my 26 year old cousin watch it because she thought it sounded like some stupid B movie but I had to prove her wrong. She was so pissed at me after the movie because she got really depressed and couldn't believe I'd have her watch a movie that was so damn depressing. I told her I didn't know that she would get depressed because not everyone reacts the same way to things. She eventually did tell me she thought it was a good movie though, just a real downer, which I agree with, it isn't a feel good movie that's for sure.
