The more I watch this baby, the more I LOVE it. The writing is smart and witty, the acting is perfect (especially by the wonderful Jennifer Westfeldt), the soundtrack is great, and in a world full of generic romantic comedies, it actually manages to be original. I absolutely love this film, and it will only get better in time. Along with When Harry Met Sally, this is hands down the best romantic comedy of all time. I would really like to see real life friends Jennifer Westfeldt and Heather Juergensen team up again to write another movie. I certainly hope this isn't the last we see of their talent. Man, I just frickin' LOVE this movie!!! I might even end up replacing The Rules Of Attraction with this movie, as my #1 film of 2002. Kissing Jessica Stein has managed to hold up extremely well with each viewing, The Rules Of Attraction on the other hand, hasn't held up quite as well. Don't get me wrong, I still love The Rules Of Attraction, but it just isn't quite as interesting after seeing it a few times. But each time I watch Kissing Jessica Stein, it actually manages to keep me highly interested with its wonderfully written dialogue and fun characters. |
